I think I’ve finally achieved my perfect set!
2.14 carat F VS2 ideal cut diamond in a platinum setting by the wonderful DiamondsByLauren team, paired with a 1.5 carat 3/4 eternity band (didn’t want diamonds on the palm side), with a tiny platinum spacer between the two.
I am in love with the ratio of size of my solitaire to the diamonds in the band, and since it’s 3/4, all you see from the top view is diamonds. The band is very low profile too, and more comfortable than I expected. My entire set is now platinum too so I don’t have to worry about different metals rubbing.

Previously, I was wearing the solitaire with a 1/2 carat band- I think the band was just too dainty of the carat weight of the solitaire. I also purchased a .90 carat 6 stone band over the summer, but when I wore it with the solitaire, I found I often had to adjust it so the diamonds in the band faced up and were centered with the solitaire. I am absolutely giddy with my new pairing. Next project: everyday solitaire necklace?

Thank you! You of all people know how I’m rings I’ve had over the past few years, and so many that I thought were “forever” sets. I really think this one it is, but who knows what the future brings ;)2

Thanks! I have more pieces in my collection than I care to admit. I was really into moissanite for a while, and I still think it is a very pretty stone, but I often felt like I was trying to “pass it off” as a diamond instead of just enjoying it for what it was.
I’ve become a big fan of lab diamonds- I know there is a lot of debate about things like resale value, but for the difference between what we paid for my solitaire and what the natural equivalent would have been we paid off my husband’s student loans, so there’s that. I’ve also come to the conclusion that resale value only matters if you sell when you upgrade, and I have a habit of holding on to my pieces so that doesn’t benefit me either.
Just for fun, here are a few more of the rings in my goodie box ;)2

Those are all really pretty… and you have good taste… and we’re the same size…

Beautiful set, the new band goes so nicely with your e-ring! I’ve seen your prev posts, do you notice any colour differences between your F and your old H?

your collection is beautiful btw

Thank you so much for the compliments!
I definitely notice a color different between the F and H. The F is always and consistently white in every environment and lighting condition- it do have great fire ( David knows how to pick a great diamond!). The H was pretty white 85% of the time- every now and then I’d find a lighting condition where the tint was apparent. I still think H can be a fine choice, and had it been something like a pendant, I don’t know that I would have noticed that difference as much. Here’s a good example of how it looked most of the time:

Another factor is that I wanted my solitaire to have a classically white center; I know it sounds basic, however, I just wanted something that would have a timeless look. I have another rings where I enjoy their body color- I’m a fan of colored stones, and my AVR is a R color, that being said, I think when you have color, you need to be more thoughtful with your setting.
Sorry. Probably a much longer answer than you wanted!

That is a very beautiful diamond too!

I feel the same as you in wanting a more white look for the main stone, I find it makes the stone “pop” more if that makes sense.

Beautiful rings, enjoy them!

Just out of curiosity, is your new stone hpht? And have you had both cvd and hpht? And if so, Did you notice any difference in person in regards to Stria/colour ? I am on the hunt for a new 2ish ct and trying to be more thorough in my research before purchasing. I currently have cvd I personally don’t notice stria and I also don’t have an hpht to compare to, to notice the brown tint, blue nuance.

Thanks in advance!

Both have been CVD. The F is whiter than I remember the H- the H had some tint but faced up quite white in most lighting situations. The best thing I did when I replaced my H was reach out to David at DbL- I felt so much more confident buying from someone who had literal decades of experience. David is very honest with his descriptions of diamonds (at times comically honest!) so when he said it was a well cut, eye clean diamond I believed it. They were great to work with too because they were able to make a perfect setting for my diamond based on inspiration pics I sent- it really makes the diamond the star while still being a well built setting. If you’re having to start over or second guessing your choices, I’d recommend going through Diamonds by Lauren or Distinctive Gems- maybe it won’t be a “bargain” however getting a well vetted diamond from a trusted company is valuable.
Here are a few more pics of the setting- those details make such a difference!

I think it’s all Very clean and well balanced, too. Congrats.

A beautiful classic set. I love it. Enjoy.

It's a lovely classic with a little personality...very pretty on you!

That is perfection - the proportions, the new stone, the bands!! I’m in love with the low-set, u prong 3/4 eternity :kiss2:

Thanks for the compliment! The band came from Charles and Colvard- it is a great pairing with the solitaire DbL did! They are about the same height and very comfortable as a set.
