I need some feedback on this stone. It is $1560 from James Allen. It is going in a very simple tension setting so it needs to have a lot fire and really stand out. Please tell me what you think.

I think it looks like you have a good idea of what you are doing. I personally would try to move down to a VS2 or F VS1 or even F VS2 to try to get her over the 1/2 ct mark. Women can be finnicky sometimes and when someone says "oh, is that half a ct." she may reply/think "oh a little under half a ct." and so while I don't generally care too much about benchmarks I think for us guys aiming for small diamonds we should really pay close attention to that .5 ct benchmark to ensure that we have done all we can to keep her from having any unwanted emotions or thoughts.

Also, a Tiffany .30ct solitaire of about 4.4mm runs about 2300 after tax fully completed ring. So...that is something else to consider. under .5cts is to me getting into the range where I am wondering if the slightly lower cost and slight size improvement is worth it or if I would be better off giving her the tiffany name.
