I want to buy Pink/Purple Sapphire, I have some questions, I hope you can help me.
Is heat treatment drop the price from natural one?
I got some earrings I found on eBay that I'm curious about, I hope you can help me find the best value for money, I don't want to buy something worthless.

Is bigger (1.5CT) and costs less then others that weight less?

Thanks alot.

Heat treatment drastically drops the price over unheated.

In this day and age, one can assume that a sapphire is heat treated (at least and probably Be treated as well). They may even be synthetic.

Synthetic sapphire have all the qualities/chemical composition of natural sapphire, however, being made in a lab, it is drastically cheaper.

It's a personal choice to accept treated or synthetic or completely natural stones.

The items you listed look very similiar to what you would see in department stores. I would personally go check them out in person first, see what they look like and then compare prices.

If you're looking to buy less treated stones, pop on over to the colored stones forum https://www.pricescope.com/community/forums/colored-stones.11/ and pose your search there. They'll be able to tell you what labs/vendors are to be trusted.

Good Luck.

So what you say is I shouldn't buy jewelries over the internet? too risky?

Nope, not at all! That's where I buy all of mine.

I'm just saying that for what you're looking, it can be had locally, for you to preview and perhaps buy.

I wouldn't trust a vendor that says a sapphire is unheated without proper documentation, let alone pay the price for an "unheated" sapphire. You would be amazed what can be done with some heat and beryllium.

Natural sapphires are usually treated with heat, and that is acceptable in fine jewelry. They are still natural but do not command the price of ones without the heat. You do need to be careful who you buy from, though, to be sure you are getting what you pay for!

I dont think anyone will give documentation for 0.5-1ct tw earrings..
The problem is that I think on ebay i'll get bigger stone for the money I spend then I'll spend here(locally).
By the way, Can you give me price range for unheated 0.5carat pink/purple sapphire, and price for heated 0.5carat pink/puple sapphire? that will really help me, thanks.

A quick search from a trusted (IMO) vendor of untreated stones, that could compare to the color and intensity of a treated stone

1,500 - http://wildfishgems.com/inc/sdetail/10889/14574
840 - http://wildfishgems.com/inc/sdetail/11081/13994
950 - http://wildfishgems.com/inc/sdetail/11081/14236

as for treated stones, the prices you saw on ebay are about right for commercial grade treatment unknown (assume Be treated or lab created) sapphires.

The stones I listed for comparison are larger than the earrings you posted though. If you like the treated stones, go for them, they are a great way to get a good looking stone for a great price.

Wow 0.70 carat 840$, So its not reasonable 0.5carat untreated earrings will cost 50-80$,Am I right?
So for the budget of 50-80$ I have to buy treated gemstone,
Am I right?

I'm not sure
I found this:

0.71 Carat for 100$

Yes. You will have to buy heat treated. The vast majority of people do! And I think they are totally fine for earrings. I would even buy the stones I linked from Simply Sapphires if I wanted pinks.

The problem you'll find with ebay in that price range is that things won't always look as good in person as they do in the pictures. In fact, empty 14k gold settings can easily cost $50-80. I'd really encourage you to maybe consider something like amethyst and wait and get better sapphires later.

Likely some of those pairs of inexpensive sapphire and pink sapphire earrings will be synthetic sapphire or much lower quality than shown in the photos. They are not a lot of money, but you likely will only get what you paid for and no true bargain. Good, genuine blue and pink sapphires are not in the low price range being advertised in the first set of links.

If you go to the Colored Stone forum and post what you are looking for and your budget they will give you several better options in my opinion.
