I am getting a little bit down now, I can''t seem to find the ring of her dreams anywhere and I can honestly say I feel totally like a dip S&^%. It''s very frustrating I no exactly what I want but haven''t a clue if each diamond is what it is.... trying to find somthing that is very important and cost alot of money and not having a clue about it equals very annoying....now if this were a car I''d have this done a month and a half ago. Is there any programs(free) that you can just punch the specs into and it tells ya what it''s like.

Call Wink or Jonathan. Seriously. You can end the insanity with a phone call. Tomorrow cause it's getting late today. But they will be able to help you get what you want. Both jewelers have a TON and I mean a TON of settings you don't see on their sites and you will be able to get exactly what you want from them as long as you keep your expectations on center diamond size reasonable, ask for an AGS0 princess, and your setting to 14K or 18K white gold. Seriously. Spend an hour tomorrow-- 30 minutes with each vendor and send them this link. Give them till the end of the day Thursday to make a suggestion for a total package. And I promise you it can be OVER on Friday. What you want is NOT hard to find.

Hi Rampy,
Have you contacted them yet?

@ rampy

I''m not a diamond expert, just a fellow Canadian that just went through what you are experiencing. I was buying a round brilliant so there seemed to be a bit more documentation on what makes a great round stone. I like you also wanted to buy a 1ct stone, and thought I found "the stone" from a PS vendor (a dropshiper). I got some great feedback on the stone for the experets on the board and they noted there could be a hit on the fire performance. Long story short, I ended up paying over $400 for an appraisal and shipping fees because the stone was a big dud. I don''t have regrets .. I think the stone was worth brining in to check out in person. In the future I probably wouldn''t take a risk like that.

So what is the point of the story?

Well being in Canada it makes buying the stone a bit more difficult since the diamond comes across that border and converting money sucks. You really need to have all the information (IS,ASET,SARIN) before you buy. Use one of the vendors suggested by the other members. You will not go wrong and you will be excited about your decision. Reach out to them and they will make this fun.

In the end I went with Whiteflash and one of their ACA stones. I worked with an amazing lady who guided me through everything (even waited while I had that stone brought in from the dropshipper). It isn''t a carat(my stone is 0.901ct)like I wanted, but I am giving my future finance a stone that is cut to perfection and will outshine 99.999% of other diamonds out there. That to me says more than 1ct ... and since there is an upgrade policy in a couple years I''ll surprise her and upgrade it to a carat for her!

Hope that kind of helps :)
