Today right before I started getting ready for work there was a persian kitty on my porch. She is still pretty young, but not really a tiny kitten. She is very sweet with the most beautiful blue eyes. I asked DH if I could keep her and he said that since she is so nice she might already have an owner. He said that if she is still around tonight when I get home from work I can keep her. I was not allowed to give her food to influence her. I went outside and talked sweetly to her and petting her to intice her to stick around. I noticed that she had swollen nipples, but was not pregnant. I think that she had kittens and someone dropped her off because they did not want her to keep having kittens. I told DH that we must save her. She is too innocent to be wandering in the wilderness. I have one male and one female already. The male is fixed so I dont have to worry about that or them not getting along and my girl cat is such a lover there is no way she wouldnt welcome her. I cant wait to go home and call her hoping she remembers my voice from earlier today. I kept meaning to take a picture, but I made myself late for work petting her as is.

That''s great RQ! I can''t wait to see pics!

Sounds like a great match, radiant! I'm so excited for you - and for the lucky little kitty who may have just found a wonderful new home

If I could just add one thing - when we found our stray she had really swollen nipples, but she was rail thin so we thought she'd had her litter recently and the little ones hadn't made it. Took her to the vet the next day and found out she was just a couple of weeks from giving birth, and waiting any longer to have the abortion would've been dangerous for her. May I recommend you bundle her up and have a vet check her over, just to be sure? We were shocked that she was pregnant, she looked anything but.

One thing I suggest if you do take her in. Go to the local humane society and see if they keep cards for people who found pets and are keeping them in their home. That way, you can keep her and know she is safe, but if there is someone worried sick about her, they can find her.

She wasnt there. It was dark too so you never know. I am looking for her again when I get home. I was planning to take her to the vet ASAP anyway because her one ear was bothering her. She kept digging at it and shaking her head like something was in there. I want to get her well.

poor kid. I hope you find her.

Ear mites ~ easily fixed.

Yes, if she shows up again make sure she''s not micro-chipped and/or on a ''lost'' list. Somebody might be missing her terribly. Otherwise, enjoy!
