They are quite reliable. Request an idealscope image from them.

I really like this diamond. It was good specs and a good price. http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/F-SI1-Ideal-Cut-Round-Diamond-1254415.asp

I did the online chat with JA. How reliable is that btw? They said that the diamond is eye clean, which is obviously a concern with SI1's. Your thoughts?
James Allen are an excellent vendor with a good rep here. Just make your expectations clear concerning the ' eyecleanliness' of this diamond so that you and the vendor are on the same page. The diamond looks great by the way.

The HCA score is 1.2 and it's right in the middle of the AGS Ideal territory, although it was graded by GIA. Why not ask for an IS image and see how the light performance looks.

Got the Idealscope image today from JA. Here it is:

Good image, might be slightly painted ( girdle treatment) and the optical symmetry is either very slightly off or the stone is tilted but it has definite possibilities.

Did you buy it or put it on hold? I see it as no longer available.

IS looks good to me.

Treefrog, JA automatically put the stone on hold once an Idealscope image is requested.

Really? Even if somebody requests multiple images? Maybe that''s why the have a maximum of 3 images. Thanks for the info. I just didn''t want him spending time pursuing a diamond that had just been bought out from under him.

I realize it''s probably extremely difficult to get the camera and diamond perfectly aligned for an image but the tilt on some of these can be quite a challenge!

So whats the verdict? Would this be a good diamond to get for a ring? I like the size and cut a lot, was told twice by JA that it''s 100% eyeclean. Thoughts?

Go for it.

Okay, I''m going to go through with this one. When the ring shows up, I''ll be sure to post pictures for everyone :)

Good luck. :)

Hi there, i dont know much about diamond.. but when i look at the image (is this idealscope???).., why are some arrows shorter than the others??

Hi Tulips,

Looks like the stone could be slightly tilted, when this happens it can make some of the arrows look shorter than the others.

Purchased! It will arrive in one week and numerous pictures will be taken for sure!

Congrats and good luck. :)
