Hello all! I am requesting your help in selecting a new diamond for a solitaire engagement ring. I recently lost both my e-ring and my wedding band, and I have just started shopping around for a replacement. My original ring held a 0.72 F SI1 ACA from WF. I loved the fire and brilliance of that little diamond and would like this one to be just as gorgeous as it predecessor. I am not necessarily tied to WF ACA by any means, but I am hoping to find something similar in terms of cut quality. My goal is to find the biggest (spread) eye-clean, ideal cut RB with a budget of $9500. I would prefer an H/I color, but would be willing to consider a J if it would mean getting a significantly larger diamond.

Here are my main contenders right now. Thoughts? Which would you choose? Can I do better?

I would really appreciate any comments or suggestions you might have. I am still grieving the loss of my original rings and want to make sure that I choose something equally amazing to take their place.

Thank you!

The GOG stone you have picked is the best cut of the 3, I would ask them if it is 100% eye clean, that would be my only concern.

Thank you for your help. May I ask why the GOG stone is the best cut of the three? I have a very basic understanding of cut re: ASET and Ideal Scope images, but I don't know enough to be able to pick out small nuances between similar "ideal" stones. It appears as though the BGD and WF diamonds both have some light leakage shown in the Ideal Scope images? Is there something else that makes the GOG diamond better?

Re: I lost my ring! Please help me pick a replacement diamo

The GOG stone has the best HCA this is an elimination tool that we use to tell us more about the cut and performance of a diamond see the tab above in "tools" click on the one that says HCA and you can run all the info through this tool yourself. It scored 1.6, the second stone 1.7 and the third diamond 1.9. There is nothing wrong with all three stones provided they are eyeclean (I always ask). Some people prefer a smaller table, others a deeper diamond - it starts to come down to personal preferences.

Other people on here might be able to suggest other options for you. If you are after an even better scoring and stunning H & A RB Wink might be another good choice, there a number of stones in your price range;

Hi OP, since you loved your WF ACA so much, I would get the ACA. There may be some polishing/finishing aspects that are specific to ACAs that are visible and what you are used to seeing. All your options are fantastic, so you can't go wrong. How you gonna set it? Can you use your old setting?

arkieb1 -- Thank you for pointing me towards the HCA tool. I will also check through the inventory at HPD, thanks for the recommendation! I did contact GOG and found out that the diamond I was interested in is not eye clean, so I am no longer considering that option.

luvdajules -- Unfortunately, I lost my entire ring so I can't re-use my old setting. My original ring was a full eternity, but after 8 years of wear I found that it was just too delicate for my lifestyle. This time around I am going with a simple and classic solitaire setting. Most likely the Vatche U113 in platinum, as I have seen so many beautiful rings with that setting on here. I was hoping to be able to try it on in person, but we live in a fairly small town and the closest Vatche dealer is about 400 miles away.
