is it the specifically the girdle or culet of a diamond that will scratch another or will any part of the diamond scratch another, like the table?

the reason i ask is i have a bead set diamond band. should i be concerned with storing my e-ring in the same box with it? only the tables are exposed on the band. the girdles are covered with metal.

any thoughts? thank you in advance!

Any part of a diamond may scratch another diamond. It''s not a great idea to store two diamond rings together. In fact, it''s best to store all jewelry in separate compartments.

Another diamond can also ''bruise'' another diamond if they bang against one another, so please store jewelry in separate compartments... Also rings / prongs can scratch up other prongs, etc...
