I just wanna say -- the random comments thread

Oh, I''m so sorry for your loss, SDL.

One of my favorite things to watch is when DH clips and files our cats'' nails. They sit like little Buddhas on his lap while he carefully clips each little claw, and then they patiently snap their little teeth at the file while he files down their tips.

Exposed kitty bellies and splayed back paws are the cutest EVER.

It''s also pretty cute to see how patient DH is with the whole process.

I am thinking of you and your family SDL.

If bootcut jeans don''t go out of style (for adult women) soon, I am boycotting denim.

what kind of jeans do you wear? i look stupid in skinny jeans, and i feel like straight leg bunch at the top of my shoes.

I wear trouser leg, though I like it much more when they are not super wide-leg. Like fiery, though, my preference really stems from what looks good on me. My thighs are proportionally larger than my caves, so bootcut really emphasizes this. I won''t even try skinny jeans. I have some straight leg, but they have to be cut a little wide.

I just wanna say..

I am SO HAPPY my brother''s biopsy came back negative!!!

What a scare.

I love boot cut jeans. But, then again, I''ve been wearing them since before they were the trend, ya know, to actually accommodate boots and all... They are the most flattering for my figure although trousers are a close second.

We ordered BM dresses yesterday. Apparently at 4 months pregnant, I''m finally a standard dress size. Um, yay? Knee length, charmeuse, v-neck, red, pregnant. Yeah, I''m gonna look hot! Now to figure out how to actually feel covered....

I just went to the Red Cross website to find out the rules for giving blood, and I''m finally eligible - and terrified. I''m getting scared just thinking about it.

I highly endorse the following products:

Stacy''s Cinnamon Sugar Pita Chips
Cedar''s Sun Dried Tomato and Basil Hummus
Nutella

YAY! And, honestly, I''ve had some of the worst experiences I''ve ever heard of. It still wasn''t bad enough to make me never want to go back. If you want the BEST experience, make sure your phlebotomist is very experienced. My worst times were when I let the new kids try to draw from me. Be completely honest if you''re not feeling well, they can do things to minimize your discomfort.

Hahaha, I''m VERY good at telling people if I''m comfortable letting them stick me with a needle! At one point I think I was getting my blood drawn every week, and I''ve learned how to say, "Look, I''m scared and I''ve got pain-in-the-butt veins. If you haven''t been doing this for at least 10 years, you''re not coming near me."

Giving blood is one of those things I''ve really felt like I *should* do, but for so long I was ruled out by tattoos, piercings, and malaria risk that this is the first time I''ve ever really had a *choice* as to whether I do it. And since I''m determined that a) I should help where I can and b) I can''t let fear decide things for me, I guess I''m going to give blood.

I can''t believe it was above zero for the first 3 weeks of January in Calgary!
Yay, another Calgarian! Isn''t January brutal!

Just wanna say..... Amazon Prime is great -- love getting stuff in two days. DH and I order regularly from Amazon, so the savings in shipping outweigh the cost of prime for us. Highly recommend it to anyone who uses Amazon frequently.

Ha! The "caliente pocket" part is seriously my favorite part!! My FI thinks I''m nuts because sometimes I go around the house saying it, just for fun.

As for tickets - yeah, I heard the 7:00 Saturday show sold out months ago. He has such a big Chicago following. He''s doing FOUR shows. I think there are still tickets for Sunday''s show, and possibly tonight''s, too.

I''d never seen Jim Gaffigan before, but I caught a few minutes of him on Comedy Central the other day and it was hysterical. He was talking in this weird voice and I just couldn''t stop laughing. I just googled the hot pocket thing, and that''s the voice. Have fun at the show CurlySue!

Ron White''s coming around here in April I think, so we''re going to see him.

Yes, me too. There''s no grief quite like it and I imagine you must feel very lost SDL.

Big hugs

I think that FI thnks that I am secretly trying to kill him in his sleep...

He woke up demanding to know ''What shot I gave him?'' "Which one? Which one did you give me???"

I was in DC all week and went jogging thru the National Mall. It made me realize I''d go jogging more if I had a cool place to jog like that.

I also got a vanilla cupcake from Geogetown Cupcakes. The cake was really good. My only disappointment was that it had cream cheese icing on it. Not that I don''t love some cream cheese icing, but I was expecting vanilla buttercream. It was still worth the $3.

SDL, I''m sorry about your Hannah. We get so attached to them and it''s so, so hard when we have to say goodbye.

Kaleigh -- I''m so glad your son is okay!

Whitby -- I can''t wait to see your new project!

I hate being sick. Sinus infections are no fun! Unfortunately, I''m prone to them. Better that than the flu, I suppose.

I hear ya. I''ve been fighting the worst cold of my life these past few days- sinus pressure, my face hurts, ears throbbing, and my throat is sooooo dry and itchy

going to class and trying to get things done is just torture! on top of that, I have a hard time sleeping

feel better soon, get lots of rest

Thanks Kas! I hope you feel better soon too! Maybe you have a sinus infection -- that''s exactly how I feel (STILL, almost a week later), but I also have a runny and stuffy nose, and I sound froggy when I talk. Have you gone to the doctor?

I have a ton of work to do this weekend but I''m also going to spend lots of quality time on the couch watching movies and taking naps. Can''t wait!

ZoeB -

are you feeling better?

i hate sinus infections too....
Hi Whitby! No, I''m feeling horrible actually. Thanks for asking though. I know it''s not the worst thing in the world to go through, and I feel bad for complaining, but I feel like cr@p.

SDL -- I''m so sorry that you had to put Hannah down. Thinking of you...

Smurfy -- just curious, but what''s the site? I''ve never ordered them online before, but I may try it.

Amber -- I''m sorry you didn''t get the job you wanted.

Cammie -- that''s great news for your brother and your family!

April -- cupcakes, yum! I recently discovered a cupcake place near us. Tasty!

Cold sores suck.

Bodhi is ridiculous in his snow boots, but I love him.
