[Love in Bloom]

I have been waiting for a sunny day to take some pictures of my new ring, but it has been so rainy here in the midwest! I just couldn't help myself...I took some pictures at work to help pull myself outta the gloom (they're not the best

), but hopefully I can take some better ones soon if the sun ever comes out today

.


So here they, the first shots of what I call my "Alligator Head" ruby in its new home:

Something about microscope lighting makes the stone really glow...

I took a look under my microscope and found some interesting stuff...I think it is rutile silk, but I''m not completely sure:

Yup thing2of2, it''s a VC. I am totally addicted to their work! It is style 457 and I asked for a half-bezel instead of prongs; wanted something to sit low. You have a good eye!

Thanks for looking AnitaT! There will be plenty more...it is so difficult to capture the personallity of the ruby on camera. My ruby is quite moody, just like me

Thank you very much Lyra! I hadn't thought of coloured stones in this type of setting either...I think the half-bezel makes it a bit more ruby-friendly (at least for me

).
