Wow looks great. Settings? Simple is always best.

eek! Congrats!

I personally don''t have a preference at WF, but I vote get a basic one for the proposal and then let her choose!

I would say that! haha.

Good luck

Beautiful!!

Well, do you know what the intended likes? (I take it you''re not her)

Simple, fancy, pave, no pave, sidestones ??

Beautiful stone!!! I''d be happy to suggest some settings if you give a general idea of taste. Does she (or you?) like antique, simple, modern, classic, etc. Also, what is your budget for the setting?

Awesome stone!!!!! Can''t wait to see it set!

She liked channel set and she liked solitaire. I feel like I picked a good stone (pat on the back) so do you think a channel set band will take away from the center. Also, she is a first grade teacher so may be putting this ring through some tough days so I am looking for a setting that may sit a bit lower so she is not catching it on things. I am thinking a simpler setting and then we can get her the channel set for the w-ring.

I think that sounds like a puuuurfect idea!

Pretty stone. I think the simple setting with a channel set w-band sounds marvelous!

If she likes channel set, that is what I would get her. This one is very nice and you can eventually get the matching W-band to go with

wow i really like that setting, i feel like i searched all over that site and didnt see that, and it is farily inexpensive compared to others I was looking at. Thanks for the recommendation.

Love it. The channel setting is very sturdy. I have a channel set band and I wear it all the time - Very sparkley too.

Be sure to post final pics!

I have the matching wedding band to this and I agree that it''s beautiful! It more shimmers than sparkles (because the diamonds are so small- very petite and feminine) so it would compliment than compete. I''ve paired it with my three stone e-ring
(from WF) and love it!

i think i have decided to go with the solitaire e-ring and then this as the w-ring...

thanks everyone for your help, i know she''ll love it!!

I am presently looking for upgrade set and like your choice a lot, I was hesitant to choose it because it looked like an eternity ring, and therefore can''t be sized up? I may be wrong on this, but thought it was posted that they can''t be changed. Knuckles get bigger sometimes and you may want to size it up in the future. If I choose this setting I am going to ask WF if they can make it in a 3/4 eternity to allow for future sizing. I think they call this semi-custom. Just a thought.

Good point , i had thought about this, many people on this board have also said that about sizing and i think it would certainly make sense, althought im certain she wouldnt mind me buying her a new ring every 5 or so years...

Great choice on the diamond! I like that Legato Sleek Lines solitaire, too! Are you going with platinum or 18k white gold?

I am planning on going with platinum. I could care less but she seems to have her heart set on platinum...any thoughts on that?

I think it''s the right decision! The price isn''t bad on either of those rings for platinum.

Ohh--- Clemson Tigers--I didn''t notice the name--My husband got his degree there! We would see the football games on the "green grass" section and all the girls dressed up to go to school and "add a bead" necklaces were ever so popular! We were newlyweds then!!!! Great memories! sorry for highjacking for my little retro vision

People always ask what others think of WF ACA's.

Absolutely gorgeous. The ASET is beautiful. Fantastic choice. The answers are usually the same!

Congratulations.

As for platinum ... we went for platinum. If that's what your fiance wants, then you can rarely go wrong. There are various platinum alloys available (there are good articles on PS about them). I think WF uses the 950 platinum/iridium.

That is a good introduction with pictures to the platinum alloys available.

All the best!

PS - we went for platinum too!
PPS - don't forget to ensure your have your fiance's engagement ring finger correctly sized. As for settings, Mark Morell / MVM have fantastic settings. Otherwise, the traditional solitaire setting in 6-prongs will be a timeless classic. Browse different catalogues, visit jewellery stores and eventually you'll both see one that you love. If your fiance likes channel set, consider an eternity/channel set wedding band too.

Thanks everyone for all the advice.

I had a tough time picking the setting, going back and forth from the legato sleek line to the flush fit. I had picked the legato, then after consideration changed to the flush fit, then couldnt sleep about it and called Katie at WF the next morning to change back to the solitaire.

All said I am excited to get the ring. It is going to kill me though because I am getting it shipped August 1 but wont be proposing until Labor Day weekend. It is going to be a long four weeks but I will upload some pictures when I get it.

Thanks again for all the help everyone!!

I think you made a good choice, and a great solution would be to get a channel set wedding band. I don''t think there''s anything more classic than a solitaire paired with a channel set or bead set wedding band!
