I literally just read about this how horrible, my thoughts and prayers go out to the fallen and their families and everyone effected by this nightmare@
 
Pure evil. News reports that his car has been found in Lisbon, and now that town's also told to shelter in place. At one point last night police were also investigating a 2nd vehicle, a dark or black pickup with a cap on the bed, and thought possibly a 2nd person was involved. I gather they were thinking maybe someone trying to aid the shooter escape. I heard that on Broadcastify, but nothing was said about it on the news that I've noticed.

Stay safe, beautiful. Thinking of everyone who is (yet again) being affected by a mass shooting over there. Hugs to you all.
 
It is and continues to be unreal. What evil some humans can perpetrate upon others. I am not desensitized to it and never will be. It is sickening and horrific :(

He's a highly trained weapons instructor in the Army Reserve, nightscopes, lasers and a modified M16, a history of mental illness and domestic abuse.
He should never have been allowed access to guns.
There are no good guys with guns. It is a lie. There is only death.

There have been over 500 mass shootings so far just THIS year.
Guns and the people valuing them over people are destroying America.
This is the only nation on Earth where this happens.
What kind of monsters are we? It is evil.

One of DH's favorite customers lives in Lewiston. He emailed her late last night, hasn't heard back yet.

I hope they find him soon...IMO, it would be better if they found him deceased.

I dont understand how they dont take guns away (and prevent them from getting more) from people who are having
mental issues. They are reporting that he spent 2 weeks in a mental institution recently and was having delusional thoughts.
I know* sometimes early reports are not always correct though so taking it with a grain of salt at this point.

Folks in that area, please stay safe. Cant imagine how scary it must feel waiting for him to be caught.
 
I'm watching the police department's live announcement now.
They said they found the suspect's body by a river.
He apparently died from a self-inflicted gun shot wound.

Now the families and community can relax and grieve.

Thankful that THIS has come to an end, but until more gun control in place, there will be lunatics out there, plotting the next senseless mass shooting.
 
Oh America, I’m so sorry that you are all going through these truely horrific (consistent) events.
I hope country wide there are serious gun laws put in place that will do it’s best to protect the innocent.
Other countries have done it, Australia did and I’m grateful!

So happy about other countries but are you ****ing kidding me? Enjoy your status as a whatever gun free place. We’re dealing with our own shit. If you can’t empathize get lost.

I did show empathy in my post; “I’m so sorry you are going through these truely horrific (consistent) events”
I will add ‘stay safe and blessings to the families that have lost loved ones’!
Maybe this might help with your “get lost” comment, as there was no disrespect intended in my post!

I’m sorry I sounded harsh. I’m just very, very tired of so many of us in the United States spinning our wheels when it comes to this issue. We’re voting, we’re trying so hard to fix the problem. Yet, every time a mass shooting occurs that makes the news, those who don’t live in this country pop up and say things like “this doesn’t happen in my country.” It’s so unhelpful, and I now have a knee-jerk reaction every time I see those types of comments. You can sandwich your sentiment between empathetic statements all you want, but the whole “wow, this would never happen in my country, wtf is wrong with you people” has become a broken record.
