I have been reading on this site off and on for a few months... I have not learned alot but have learned about some of the different shapes (I''m not great about determining shape from cut, I know princess refers to the cut not the shape and the shape is square) so forgive me if I mess it up

I know that if you were to get a 1ct square and a 1ct RB the RB looks (or is) bigger... however I do not like RBs (I know... SHAME! haha) But that the squares or Princesses don''t look as big... so my question is... is there any modified squares that have a "bigger look" to them?

I Used to like the Princesses until reading on here some now I like the modified squares with the "clipped" corners like the Asschers but I''m not sure I''m a big fan of the "stepped" cut of the Asschers I like the cut of a Princess better.

Which particular cut on a square will make it sparkle the best?

If you want a very sparkly square cut I would recommend either a square hearts and arrows or a jubilee from goodoldgold.com

They have the sparkle of a round with a square shape. They will face up only slightly smaller than a round of the same carat weight...not a huge difference.

Have you seen the X-factor Princess at whiteflash? It is a princess cut with clipped corners. http://www.whiteflash.com/diamonds_about/xfactor.aspx
There are many other cuts and maybe others will chime in. My first thought was a radiant cut. Sounds like you want a square cut that is like a rb.
Go to the Good old Gold website and you will see plently to chose from... http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamondSearch.php

I think a shallow, but still gorgeous, cushion is your best bet. You can go down on depth on a cushion, and still have it be lovely-- you can''t really do that with many other of the square cuts, except maybe an occasional (like Kaleigh''s) asscher. I would call Mark and ERD and tell him that you want a square ''modern'' cushion, emphasis on spread and fire... and see what he comes up with. That, IMO, is your best bet if you want a square shape with good spread.
