I have to share the good news!!

Hi Ladies!!

I'm fairly new to the forum, but have been a lurker for a few months now. My name is JoJo and I'm 26 from NYC. I have been dating the love of my life (aka my boyfriend) for almost 5 years at the end of this month. Well, for the longest time we have been talking about marriage and have been looking at engagement rings here and there. Recently I told him how I have my heart set on a Cushion Cut in a Solitaire Setting (after going through the pave setting phase and many others! LOL

) and how I would like to go and see one, just to make sure it's what I want.

Well, after many many discussions, and after reading many many reviews on PriceScope, we decided to visit I.D. Jewelers in NYC's Diamond District, and we picked out a diamond and setting......and he made a deposit!!!

I am soooo ecstatic and had to share!! lol I can't wait to see what it will look like. It's all so exiting and we are both so happy with the diamond we picked

It was such a great experience to be there together picking it out, and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. So enough talking, here are the specs!!

1.05 Ct. Cushion Brilliant
Color - H
Clarity - VS2
Symmetry/Polish - Very Good/Good
Setting - 14K White Gold Four Claw Prong Classic Setting (No Basket) - (*This was a special request lol)

The diamond is absolutley gorgeous

I wish I had pictures!! But I will soon enough! Dan from ID was such a gentleman, and was really there to meet our needs, anything we asked, he was more then helpful and gracious to do! It was an overall great experience!! Now it's just a waiting game!!

Sorry if I was rambling, but I was sooooo estatic and since I couldn't share with anyone yet.....I had to share here! lol

It's very exciting, and although I have an idea of what the final ring will look like, I can't imagine how beautiful it will be! To be honest, I was actually a little concerned that I was going to be taking away from the whole experience for my boyfriend by being there, but it was the best thing. Unlike me, he isn't too savy on the 4 C's, cushion cuts, etc.

so he felt it was really helpful that I was there. He did say though that if he wasn't happy with the final setting, he was going to make changes, maybe even switch the cushion for a round

But I told him to do anything he would like....just keep the cushion! LOL

The setting is a simple 6 prong in platinum.......I feel like I''m gonna explode with happiness!!!!!!

I've only told one close friend....and I kinda feel bad because all I want to do is call her and talk about it LOL But he asked me not to tell my mom or anyone else, he wants to do the rest on his own, and I totally respect that.

Your diamond sounds sooooo pretty! Do you have pictures? I really wish I had pictures of the diamond so I could share. I regret not taking any!! Have you started looking at wedding bands?? I have and I don't want to jump the gun, but the excitment is soooooo overwhelming that I can't help it lol I also want to do something special for him, poor guy was sweating and so nervous when it was time to make the desposit, and since at the end of this month it's our 5 year anniversary, I want to do something nice.....I just can't think of what to do

Oh that ring is pretty! Can''t wait to see hand shots when he finally proposes!! And don''t worry about your nails....you can''t even tell lol What size is the final ring going to be? We chose a 6, it was the best fit And it''s funny because I''ve been thinking about what bands will compliment the ring....and even worse, I''ve been looking at other cushions, have been reading up more about them....so much so that I told my boyfriend we should take a second look at the diamond and make a switch!!

But he told me I was being paranoid and too silly, that I should be happy with the diamond we chose because he thought it was beautiful like me

....(he''s so sweet lol) and above all to have patience till I get it LOL

Something I totally don''t have!!

So.....with all that being said, I have no idea when he''s going to pop the question.....it''s madenning trying to wait and not think about it....I want to know so bad but don''t want to ruin the surprise

Do you have any idea or clue when you''re boyfriend/soon to be fiance will ask you?? I''ve asked mine to do it anywhere but a restaurant....it seems to cliche to me lol
