After the pricey purchase of Poppy a few months ago, DH and I have agreed: no more stones. At least until Christmas. :saint:

But then I saw a lovely medium tanz, just the right cut and size I had previously been looking for, on sale:

So I bought it.

And I casually mentioned wanting a bright, silky Mahenge spinel to the vendor, who then came back with this:

So I bought it too.

:errrr: :errrr: :errrr: Oops. DH just gave me "the look" when I tried to make justifications. I really AM NOT buying any more stones now. For real this time.

Haha! Yeah, I've said that before too. Lovely stones though.

I suspect it's like a gemstone hangover. You wake up the next morning and say, "I'm never doing that again!" A very short time later, that goes right out the window...

OMG, I know the feeling! Those are beautiful stones though- worth the hangover!

OMG!! may I know which vendor get back to you with THAT spinel?
I definitely want to drop them an email right away

Congratulations, beautiful stones!! :appl:

I wouldn't have resisted those either! Gorgeous -- I love the tanz!

There are certain things about which I've learned not to say, "Never anymore...." & gems are one. Might as well be honest w/myself -- if not w/DH! I'm so bad, I've even thought of having them delivered next door so the arrival of "signature required" packages won't be..er...quite so noticeable. Haven't sunk to those depths yet, but who can predict the future? :naughty:

Don't do it Laurie!! No need to feel ashamed of our need for beautiful jewels and hiding it will only make it seem as if we are! I remember one time (LOLOL, I still cannot believe my dh did this!) early on in our marriage, my dh felt the need to sneak in shoes, that he had just purchased, into our home. I was like, really? C'mon, are you serious? If there is one thing I need, heck, one thing I actually demand in our relationship is honesty above all else. So no sneaking in of anything. 100% honest, straightforward, it's the only way to go! And no apologies necessary for our love and desire for beautiful gems. Life is hard enough and we need some beauty in it to make it true and good. :appl:

 That really is funny, Justginger!!! Who among us on PS, has not made that promise to ourselves at one time or another??? :naughty:

I was very lucky to purchase a few items and pick them up in June... its mid August and I can't believe I have nothing to plan!! So... obviously I'm now planning for something (undetermined, but there will be a something, I'm sure!) ... because I "knew" I had everything I ever wanted in June, and now I've just discovered... I don't!! SHOCK!!

Very nice stones.

I have snuck shoes in (now I have to think of them as sneakers). It seems a little silly since once you put them on they will be found out. So then I let them sit in their boxes for a few months before wearing. When I do finally start wearing them, if I am asked if they're new, I can say no!

Xmas is an awfully long time away but at least you have two lovelies to admire until then. :Up_to_something:

Beautiful stones! Really beautiful. I understand how and why you broke not-to-buy-for-now resolution. At least it was for a good reason, congratulations.

Those are both very pretty and will look great set or just as is in your collection. If you really want to take a brake from buying don't look at the vendors sites or on Ebay. Otherwise you'll be tempted. It takes willpower but you can do it. If you must have something during the time you're trying not to buy, try experimenting with some less expensive stones.

Both gorgeous!! I have a soft spot for Mahenges...Dang these vendors and their temptations! :nono: :Up_to_something: :cheeky: :lickout:
