Thankfully she won''t make it to the wedding. RSVPs are starting to come in (yay!) and we got our first "no" today from one of FI''s numerous uncles. His wife, according to FI, is a b!tch, and she wrote the following in a hand-writing I have trouble making out:

"HAD I WANTED TO COME I COULDN''T HAVE SINCE DISABLED CHILDREN ARE NOT ALLOWED SH!T"

33.gif
I mean, it''s fine that she doesn''t want to come, but this has nothing to do with their children being disabled (I''m disabled myself) and the swearing is pretty unnecessary... Oh well, I guess FI''s right!

Let her stay home and be upset, that way we''ll be able to party with nice people who actually care about us and want to be there!

Wow!!! How sad that she won''t be there to celebrate with you! She sounds like a barrel of cheer!

Who doesn''t have a crazy aunt these days

. I think they just all come out while wedding planning, don''t they?

Why the need to curse on a RSVP? That''s pretty insane!

Yikes! Any idea what she was talking about?

Wow-what a note to send back! Crazy aunts are the bane of my life-D has one that''s obsessed with him and told me that she was jealous that I was going out with him and that she wasn''t

I''d ignore her.

Mouahahaha... Yeah, she does. I don''t think I''ve ever met her, and I don''t particularly care to!

Yeah. A lot of people have turned out to be insane during my planning... I swear I''m never doing this again!

Some people seem to always need to curse. Don''t understand why, I don''t swear myself. Ah well. *shrugs*

Well, from what I understand she''s upset that we''re not inviting children (we wrote "adults only" on the reception card and "2 seats have been reserved in your honour" on the RSVP card). Why she think it has soething to do ith her kids being disabled, I have no idea.

woah! that''s pretty uncalled for - I can''t believe that anyone, much less family, would write a note like that!

Better off that she stay home!

Oh, I fully intend on ignoring her... Never met her, don''t care to. Sheesh.

My thoughts exactly.

I''d write back and ask her why she wants disabled children to have "sh!t..."

Is it possible that she''s upset that she will have to find someone to take care of her children - because they have special needs, will it be impossible for her to find someone to take proper care of them???

Either way, an attitude like that is never acceptable...

I too am having a "no kids" wedding - I''d go ballistic if anyone rsvp''d with that snide remark!

Me three! I was just at a wedding over the weekend where a child screamed through the whole thing and the mother didn''t even have the common sense to take him out. I leaned over and whispered to my FI (who was equally annoyed) and said "No children" and he agreed.

Oh wow, Anchor! That is seriously messed up.

I could understand that, really, but it seems like she didn''t want to come in the first place ("had I wanted to come..."), so it really looks like she was just being mean.

We''re not having children at our wedding because 1. we don''t have room, 2. we don''t have the money, 3. I''ve been to weddings and it always seemed to me like a not very kid-friendly event and 4. parents who won''t take care of their children (like what you saw... there are some in every family...). So I agree with you!!

Haha, that made me laugh. My family never swears, not one of them, but FI''s family is a completely different story.
14.gif
I don''t expect to see swear words on any more RSVPs, though!

anchor, What a mean thing to write on an RSVP, especially if you are saving all of your rsvps. BTW, I have a crazy aunt too. I think everyone does. LOL.

Linda

Nice, crazy aunt.. Just prove to your soon to be family exactly how bitter and b!tchy you really are.

Honestly, some people.

Haha... Right. I think FI and I will keep it to ourselves though. It''s pretty stupid and I don''t think it''s worth telling anyone. She may not have class, but I do.

I''d send the RSVP card back to her and ask her if she''d "spell-checked" it....

This is what I was thinking too. Her reply wasn''t acceptable though.

Exactly. I showed FI and he had a good laugh, then through the card in the recycling bin. No point in getting upset over this, right?
