There is no point to this thread except that no matter what I might be doing during the day, if I feel a chin hair or a course upper lip hair, I become obsessive compulsive and have to pluck it out or I can''t concentrate. Am I the only one that has this OCD issue?

OMG, I saw your post and I burst out laughing. NO, you are not the only one. I actually start picking at mine and become obsessed with it. I have to get a mirror and pluck that sucker OUT!!!

Thanks for the laugh tonight Janice

You're OK unless you're having trouble fighting the compulsion to pluck someone else's facial hair.

LOL! You crack me up! I don''t have chin hairs...yet...but, if I have a wild eyebrow it drives me insane... Must. Pluck. Eyebrow.

ha ha ha, believe me I have seen some women where I have wanted to grab and pluck those hairs out of their chin

You should check out the upper lip & wayward eyebrow hair Sarah Palin''s sporting on the cover of Newsweek.

Honestly it would be sexist to "touch her up" since they don''t to photos of male politicians. Its just more jolting to see a SUPER CLOSE all-too-real photo of a woman, since mainstream media tarts us all up for the presses/movies/etc.

There''s an interesting similarly raw photo feature in New York magazine, about "New York Actors" which had some pretty unflattering portraits of Ellen Barkin & other male & female actors ... that had the celebrities protesting!

But, yeah, I hate my goat like chin beard. HA! Do you all remember when Rosie O Donnell grew hers out & beaded it?

What??? ha ha ha ha, no I don''t remember that. Was that on her show???

OMG, Deco, really? A wayward eyebrow? On the cover of a magazine? I haven''t seen it or it would make me twitch!

Speaking of politicians and their hair. Did anyone think something was different about Obama''s eyebrows last night? They looked lower...And freshly waxed...Or shaved They distracted me. And creeped me out a little, too.

Oooooh it is more than an eyebrow. Several stray eyebrow hairs, a full unbleached mustache, deep lines around the eyes, clumped mascara, large pores, weirdly scraggly temple hair and a pimple.

Its funny though ... when I showed my husband he was like "what''s wrong with it?" He didn''t even notice that stuff. Which I guess is good for all us very human, imperfect ladies!

She''s a beautiful woman. I don''t mean to disparage her looks overall. Its just jarring to see that kind of super-sized realism on a magazine cover. Her head is almost 2x the size of my own! I don''t even see MYSELF that close! HA!

Yeah ... I think I''m remembering this right. I *know* she threatened to do it ... I *think* I remember her putting a couple beads on there & then plucking it. But maybe I''m

I know this is meant to be a funny thread, but it is the current plight in my life! I hardly had any facial hair (save some upper hair growth) but after I started laser hair removal (full body) I have become a beast. There is hair every where. Makes me want to cry. The laser place suggests that these are dormant hairs that would come out later, so why not zap em now?

All I can think about is setting up shop with fiance in the morning and tackling our morning shave together

Lol, this is funny! Well, I h a t e facial hair on me... ehum, I thread my upper lip, around my eyebrows, and I'm thinking I should start doing it on the rest of my face, I'm not sure I have any hair there, well, some blonde teeny tiny hairs...I can imagine that they'll grow longer later on in life
7.gif

I made my mom teach me how to thread when I was 18, and have done it since. It takes 5 mins and I do a quickie before I go to bed a couple of times a month. It has saved my life...lol

I think I read that you shouldn''t pluck chin hairs because it will cause more than one hair to grow out of the root. Instead, I think I heard shaving or a method that doesn''t rely on removing the hair from the root is better. Will have to look it up tomorrow

I am SO there with you, ladies! My eyebrows and (ahem) other facial hairs are jet black. JET BLACK! And, as my students say when we''re talking about similies, I''m am "as white as a sheet of paper." Not a good combo.

I had laser done on my upper lip and chin a few years ago, but my experience has been like yours, somehowcollide--now I have MORE hair growing there. It''s horrible! I wax and tweeze regularly now, but I can''t stand having to do it all!

Oh, and miracles--I have a deal with my two best friends: if any of us end up in the hospital for any length of time and unable to tweeze our facial hair, the other two will sneak in when nobody else is around and tweeze the debilitated friend! I''m not joking. I have these nightmares of being hospitalized and becoming extra pale, sunken, and HAIRY!

HI:

Why doesn''t it come in grey--like the hair on my head? Less noticable might be some small consolation......

cheers--Sharon

Yeah, I''m with you on the OCD thing. Its just all I can think about......then all I can do is hope that the more I keep plucking it, maybe eventually it realize that I don''t want it there and stop growing!!!!

Haha, this makes her even more relateable.

Miracles, I definitely have this OCD issue as well, except that I''m not smart enough to carry around tweezers, so I just end up running my thumb over the hair all day long without realizing it. As if having the chin hair isn''t bad enough, I have to draw attention to it all day long.

Hi my name is dragonfly and I''m an OCD Chin hair plucker

This thread is hilarious. I have two chin hairs that I have to remember to watch for every couple of weeks. I check my eyebrows every single day for errant stubble, I have been obsessed with doing that since I started plucking them in 6th grade! I can''t stand to let hair grow in between waxings so I just do them myself.

I''ve been told you should NEVER do laser on your face because of those dormant hairs. The only permanent solution is, painfully, electrolysis.

Haha, I''m only mid-20''s, but I can totally relate as I have ONE recurring chin hair! I have no idea when I got it, but it''s been a few years at least. I pluck it, and then I constantly rub my chin to feel for when it returns. And then, once I can feel it coming back, I rub it constantly until it is long enough to pluck again!

I would really love to get rid of it permanently, but I can''t see doing anything expensive since it really is just one hair.

But I can say that I pluck it on a regular basis, but no other hairs have ever grown back with it!

Dang sabine! Your lucky! I''m the same age and I have apx. 12 recurring hairs!!!!!! Darn Italian hairy genes!

It only gets worse as I get older. Now they''re gray and my aging eyes don''t focus close up very well and accurate plucking has become an issue. It''s a horrifying experience on a sunny day to pull out your compact to refresh your makeup and see a foot long gray hair corkscrewing out of your chin or eyebrows.

For anyone who hasn''t seen it, here''s the Palin cover:

Her teeth look nice.

Gah! I''m no Sarah Palin fan, but that cover is just brutal!

WHY didn''t anyone tell me this sooner?

i wouldn''t shave your chin, think about feeling all the stubble! yikes! i did electrolysis about 10 yrs. ago, my upper lip area is hair free, but chin is a mess! yes, it is painful, and expensive! my eyes are going also! i can only visually check at night and in the morning before i put my contacts in, the rest of the day is a feel check. sometimes i catch myself doing it in public, like a man would feel his beard, very bad!!! a hint to solve the eyebrow problem, wear bangs!!
31.gif
also, does anyone have peach fuzz on face too?

I totally could have written this post! I have ONE recurring chin hair also, which coincidentally was bothering me at my desk today so I quickly plucked it out - again! I don''t see the benefit of doing anything other than that though since it is only one hair
