I got a few pretties set and as promised, I got a new stone which I'll also post. I'm waiting on 2 stones thought I would see them today but no dice. oh well...

Anyway here's the stone I purchased from Swala last year. Its a 2.93ct bluishgreen cushion cut tourmaline. I am in LUV with this stone!

Here's a side view to get an idea of height. specs are 8.3mm x 6.2 mm The shifts colors all over the place! I love it!!

Here's a side by side view of minty blue and minty green (excuse my dust!)

more to come!

Now that's what I call good stuff! Arc those colours really suit you. I love the Tourmaline and the setting is gorgeous. More photos. More photos. More photos! :appl:

Here they are with my lovely new rubellite which is not the best cut but ooooo that cooooolllloooorrr.......

and speaking of the rubellite, its 2cts. I'm considering rose gold for it :naughty:

These were pictures I took last week when I received it.

Oooooooo
I can't even decide which I love best !!! :cheeky:  :cheeky:
What a luscious batch of twinkly goodness !!!!

I can't decide which, either. First I thought "Ohhh, love that tourm." Then, "Oh gosh, the mint one is gorgeous..." then I gave up. They are all just terrific. Love the settings you chose too. Where did you get the mountings?

Thanks Freke!

LD, thanks! I took a big chance on the rose gold as I've never liked it on skin before. These are from all those settings I bought last year from LOGR. I'm glad I went with my gut on these two.

Lori, Eric does have some other cushions that were close to this color. There was a much bluer one that really was lovely that I was considering at first, then I saw this one. I kept going back and looking at it because it had me so intrigued... plus the price was right. That stone is amazing...the colors shift around like water, and the sparkle is really hard to pin down. Its not like my other tourmalines.

The greener one is one that I bought from Gene.

shiney, I can't decide either, so on the way home from the jeweler I wore them all

Thanks laurie!

Last year I went on a mount buying spree. I bought something like 12 *ok it was 13 but who's counting* :errrr: at any rate, life and work got in the way and I never got around to setting anything until now.

These two are LOGR settings.

The stone from swala was definitly lighter unset. I love how much it came alive afterwards.

I'm over here jumping for joy...your STUFF is gorgeous!!!!

Beautiful colours and rings, I especially like the rubellite on you.

Oh, I love the way the Swala tourmaline came out! All your new pretties are wonderful, congratulations! :appl:

They are all very pretty.

Gorgeous rings, but I'm a sucker for rubellite - yours is yummy!

 :appl: Oh my! That tourmaline.. I can see why you love it Arc! That color is so gorgeous and it looks so fabulous with your skin! All your new pretties are incredibly lovely..but boy I couldn't keep my eyes off that tourm!

Ooooooo, whew, having a hot flash over those stones. Beautiful. And the setting for the zircon is faboosh.

Thanks all :wavey:

Its hard to not want to wear it around the house. Maybe I should put it on and go somewhere  Both of them came out so well, but that tourmaline is really something else. I love how its cut.

For those that don't remember what it looked like when I first posted, here's the vendor pic tourmaline.jpg

and after the set

wow!! i would've never thought to put rose gold with green/blue stones and the combo is AMAZING!! those colors really really suit you well!

cellentani, the vendor had 2 rubellites but this one was definitely the better of them. The other I think was SI and this one was VVS. Though there's some color shift, the color is just crazy in person.

I totally agree that they suit you. The zircon and the tourm rings pop on your hand. I am so not a fan of overkill, but I love them together

One of the things I notice about your LOGR butterfly ring is that on either side of the zircon, there is a strip of rose gold visible. Is that happenstance because the stone was a bit narrower than the ring spec, or did you have it made that way? I love it like that. I have two of those LOGR settings - one with a blue sapphire, and one with a Barry cut red garnet. They are both really nice, but yours blows them away.

I love both the pear rubellite and the tourmaline from swala. That vendor pic sure was accurate.

minousbijoux, Its the stone being just a tiny bit narrow. I've tried it with fatter stones that were that would have hid that but I just didn't like how they looked in the setting.

Gempassion, I think so yes...but only after the set! the stone prior to setting was lighter, After setting it though you can now really see that gorgeous cutting on the stone. If Eric had more in this color I'd buy them to make a suite.

A, while i'm not a halo fan, i think your ring turned our well. why? well, for one the halo and diamond shank do NOT over power your lovely 2.93ct bluishgreen cushion cut tourmaline. while i do think this stone could have stood on its own without all the diamonds, it does look lovely on your hand! very complimentary!

MoZo

MoZo, thats high praise coming from you considering I know you don't like halos much, so I thank you for it.

Initially I wanted to get a similar setting as the one I got for the afgan stone but I did already have the rose gold setting so I took the chance that it would work out ok. I think the combination of the two is just one of those things that could either look really awesome if well executed or really crappy if not. I did a little dance at the jewelry store when I picked it up..lol.

So to that end, I totally agree with you. ( thats though I have to admit I kind of have a fetish for halos ;)) :saint: ) If I ever do a reset I would go with a solitaire with some side stones. The stone is pretty big so it would be perfectly fine.

I love your tourmaline. Swala had a couple of very nice smaller tourmalines and I bought one for my pendant. It is beautiful and very bright. Congratulations. I know the feeling; I was pleasantly surprized when I opened the package. Yours is very, very pretty so I imagine how you felt. And the ring is beautiful. You have beautiful skin color and elegant hands; bright stones look stunning on you!

Ah, good to know, thanks Arcadian.

crasru, thanks. I don't have small or long fingers so I'm tickled pink that you think they look elegant.

The ring is sized to an 8. Even when I would diet for bb shows my fingers are never below a size 7. I'm one of the few women out there that I can think of that would look like a crack addict at 130lbs. (I'm 190 right now, but I used to show at 165-170)

Er... I treat addicts but your metaphor escapes me. But I always wanted to start a thread on weight woes and weight loss on the Hangout... No, I remember your hand shots from earlier photos. You have beautiful manicure, would always choose these bright shades of nail polish, and the hands look great.
