I purchased a ideal cut hearts and arrows diamond. I saw the diamond in person before purchasing it and saw no inclusions. This was to be expected from a vs2. I looked at it under an ideal scope and it look gorgeous.

When the rock arrived mounted I noticed that from the side there was what looked like a seperation or something. I have been told that this is the reflection of the girdle or the table or something.

My question is. Is this avoidable? Is this common? Again with the specs:

Ideal 0''s x 3
Vs2 clarity

Thanks again.

unavoidable.

the diamond is really pretty from the top though, you should look at it more that way.

treepop, yes it is common, girdle reflection. And some settings can hide it, mine does. But it's nothing to worry about.

No worries, most diamonds display this effect! Enjoy

That''s perfectly normal.
