OK so i think i have done to much research and now have no idea what i am looking at :o I am looking for a Cushion that sparkles I don't think big and chuncky but at this point i don't know. I have a 5k max budget but wouldn't mind being closer to 4k.
Square shape i think less than 1.10 ratio
Color white i am liking I color but sometimes they look yellowish or warm not a fan.
Clarity eye clean
Carat at least 1 but i want a larger look. I'd love be at/above 6mm i wish you could do a search by dimensions.
Bigger the better

But I really want to thank everyone one this sight for being so helpful although i has cost me my sanity. :D

You mentioned that the stones you have seen with I color appear tinted to you, do you know who graded the stones that you viewed? If they weren't graded by GIA or AGS then it's possible that they were actually lower in color than an I. Some people are more color sensitive then others and a slight tint bothers them, if this is you than I would definitely not consider a stone below an H. But I think it's important that you view some stones in varying color grades that have GIA or AGS reports (if the stones you viewed previously weren't) so you have some idea of your tolerance.

All the stones i have looked at have been GIA. I don't think i am color sensitive maybe the some of the I stones are low I's thats why i could see alittle color in them? IDK if that is possible but most of the I's have seen have appered white to me. I have handled at least 30 stones but i keep driving myself mad over 1 thing or another almost like i think when i see the ONE i will know it just like my GF

It's kind of like the woman who tries on over 30 wedding gowns and still can't pick one on Say Yes to the Dress. I don't think any cushion with less than superior cut will satisfy you. This supports you getting the Brellia.

What is brellia?

Here is a video of it, on the left. On the right is the beautiful I SI2 that Christina posted.

Perfect Julie! I've been visiting...umm okay stalking the Brellia's in a smaller size for a pendant stone. The other cushion Christina found is great as well. Focusr3-will these work for you? Killer optics and GOG has a great upgrade policy.

Don't give up! Be patient and you will find the stone that is just right for you.

I suggest this .93 J from GOG ...it faces up like a 1c as the depth is 66%.

It will face up very white because of the superior cut.

Also they have two L color AVC's the will most likely only show color from the side view. But they will also be lovely when set.

This one faces up nice and large and I really like the ASET...it just came back on as available:

The gemologist states that the feather is not seen with the naked eye...aset here:

Ok, experts, I can't see the inclusions on this I1! $3300. Faces up smaller than the E SI1 above:
Nice stone, would like to see the ASET

Ok, if you really want BIG...then go with this 1.46 Old Mine Brilliant that is round and set it in a cushion shaped halo...J but Excel says it "faces up white like a G" so the cut must be good. check out this link for pictures and more info. The lighting is not that good in those pics. I've seen the same on many of the OEC's and OMB's on jewelsbyericagrace.com

1.46 OMB excel
check out this thread that has some pics and where i posted some round stones in cushion halos...they are beautiful when set right...they look just like you have a square cushion cut diamond....IMO.

Here's a really large Old Mine Cut...nice depth and table numbers. It is a J vs2, if you want a really large stone almost 7.5 x 7.5mm

I would probably get Excel to get the ASET and picture of this one.. $3,700

Sometimes these Old Mine cuts can be more round but you can set it in a square setting and get the same result as a square stone.

Have you seen well cut I's and J's in person? I've seen an L color at the jewelry store and it was very white.

My favorite thread for a 5c honker J color in a halo...check out pg 3 where she says it faces up "icy white":

To search for the stones that face up larger you should put in depth of around 66%...the more shallow the stone the larger it will face up. The best stats for a cushion is depth mid 60% and table mid 50% or smaller. The smaller the table the higher the crown which is preferable in a cushion to get that plump pillow look which is highly desirable.

I'd like to start by saying thanks to everyone. With all your help I have 3 stones from JA getting ASET images.

The last one isn't showing up anymore :| But the GIA Report 2136975253.

No Halo at GF request she feels that it's all the rage and would like something simple but sparkly. So i am going with this setting the only question is am i suppose to buy her wedding band also or just the ERing?

I think i know which stone i like but what do you guys/gals think?

really like the look of the 2nd one.

Thats the one i am liking so far also I hope the ASET comes back good.

I'm just wondering why you didn't like the Brellia, was it the price point?

I don't understand why you think these are going to be dramatically different from the 30+ that you have already seen, enough for you to just know it is the one when you see it.

Price has some to do with it but i could pony up some more money if it was a must.

The main thing i don't like about that cut is that it is very square at least the ones in my price point i want square ratio but still have the cushion/pillow shape if that makes since. I know i might get bashed for this but not a fan of H&A look.

The things i do like is they sparkle very good maybe the best i have seen

Oh, yeah, I get it. I think the Brellia is a little too square, too.

ok, you've seen 30 cushions, which is a lot more than most online consumers have seen. What were they missing? What are you looking for that 30 of them did not have?

I like the second one. The thrid one might not be bad. Has a lot of contrast(too much?) ...holding out for the aset on this one.

Well thats where i have had an advantage with seeing so many I have a friend who did a lay out for me at home so i could see what i wanted. He brought 17 stones the first time vary in color, shape, carat, etc. Well i was using what i have learned here to help me. He even expressed how much i knew and was inpressed with the knowledge i got from this site and even said I'm glad everyone isn't like you, most people say that looks good i'll take it.

The second time he brought other stones and some i already saw he wanted to see if any of those still had the wow factor. Thats when things got hard because i have seen so many different ones and like this on this one, that on this one. I keep thinking i will see everything on one stone sooner or later.

So now that I am frustrated with looking for the ONE. I'm taking a new approach find 3 that stand out so i looked at everything on James Allen added some to my wish list, looked again later being picky and added some to the wish list the first 3 that i picked that where already on the wishlist I asked for ASET images.

Diamonds are so hard well cushions atleast. It's not do like the color red or blue. It's table, depth, crown, facet pattern and so many more features.

I really think i looked at to many stones.

Sorry for the rant.

Good luck.

The thing is I'm going to pop the question and she will love the ERING i hope, and will never know how hard i made this on myself because she will only see the final product.
