Rabbit is my last name and I like nothing more than to dig around in dimly-lit spaces! Likewise, my ears are highly atuned to hints and throw-away comments made by my darling boyfriend... "Don''t rummage in my closet" he said.
To my delight I found a loose diamond in his heart-print boxershorts! I sure hope it''s for me :\ !
There is a certificate too; I''ve got a 1.5 EC on my hands which is sparkly and delicious. Not too big - but certainly not too small. Classy. Looks like he''s been picking up my notso subtle hints about loving Emerald cuts.

Now I need to gather ideas about how best to show-off the diamond and drop massive hints to him about the setting I want. I want something delicate but with some edge, some personality and some weight.

PLEASE HELP ME OUT BY POSTING YOUR CLASSY, THIN SHANK, EC CUTS!

Thanks!!

You went searching through his stuff?

Does he know you found the diamond?

Yay!!! DH and I have the same kind of playful humor - he loves to hide gifts from me... but I almost always find them! We both get a huge kick out of it. However, he hid the e-ring so well, I never found it until he proposed. Clever man!

You super sleuth, you! He gave you a hint, though! LOL

This is my favorite EC setting. 1.5 is a nice big size! Wow, I love emerald cuts.

Can't wait to see the final product!

My Husband (BF at the time) had my ring for 6 months before he proposed. It was kept in his top dresser drawer and I would visit all the time and was alone in his place. I never once opened that drawer or knew it was there. I respected his privacy and I would hope that others would do the same. I like surprises.....

I'm a three stone girl:-) I would have Leon make a three stone setting...like this...

hahaha You know, I wouldn''t drop hints. If he figures out you found the diamond, he may be disappointed.

If my DH ever hides a diamond from me, hopefully he doesn''t put it in his underwear drawer.

Maybe it isn''t for you and that''s why he told you not to rummage in his closet?

Oh come on, guys! He basically told her to look! If he really didn''t want her to know something was afoot he would have stayed silent.

I LOVE the Leon Mege setting!

Way to ruin the surprise.

DH and I went to a Chris Rock show and he was making fun of women lusting over a diamond something-or-other. I''m sure you gals can guess what his actual terminology was.

Let''s hope it''s for you!

Kidding, kidding.. it''s totally for you.

Lucky you, Jessica...

All I keep finding in my man''s underwear is meat, two veg, and the occasional skid mark

that''s awesome! I searched our house high and low, every nook and cranny...only after he proposed I found out it was in the speaker of a 1940''s radio we have. Clever. The whole time my best friend was saying "Stop Looking, you''re ruining your one surprise!!!" and I responded, "No I''m not, I''ll still be surprised the first time I see it..." heehehehe...

As for the setting, I''m a huge fan of Halo''s, so maybe dig around the Collection of halo''s thread?

Huh. Takes all sorts

Sure it''s not a 1.5ct piece of glass to throw you off?

I am picturing it loose and wrapped in his undies. I hope it was in a box or somthing! LOL!

Van- HAHA!!!

Okay, that is just gross. Maybe because I'm eating lunch. . .or maybe not!

This bring a whole new meaning to the term "family jewels!"

Haha... since my first reply was in seriousness, I am allowed one in jest!

Can't wait to see your stone & ring!

Sorry to offend but I find the snooping very disrespectful. For me (and for most), trust is a HUGE must in a relationship. I do not know the dynamics of your relationship but if my boyfriend told me, ,"Don''t rummage in my closet" I would have respected his request and not ASSUMED it was a hint for me to do just the opposite. But then again, that''s my relationship, not yours.

I have no further advice other than I hope your ering and proposal will be a beautiful, dreamy SURPRISE.

One thing you have to keep in mind, Collee, is we don''t know the tone of her boyfriend''s request. Was he serious, was he hinting, was he sarcastic. . .how he said "don''t rummage in my closet," could mean many things.

We may never know. I guess I would feel pretty guilty if I had found a diamond my dh had hidden from me. But, then again, he''d never joke about it. Actually, if he hid one, he''d be a bit more careful about not hinting.

I completely understand and that is the reason why I mentioned the not knowing the dynamics of their relationship. Very often the written word is read/perceived different than the author intends it to be read//perceived. I could be totally wrong but IMO (and i am sure others would agree) the OPs tone seems more along the lines of an 'hee hee' than an “YAY” or an 'uh oh'.

Yep. Who knows. She''s new here (joined today/first post) so hopefully she will be able to find the help she needs here on PS as she reads along, and that she does have a wonderful proposal (as you had said)!
