I figured it out, Leon Mege type ring..help?

I posted a couple of days ago and am looking for a ring that I saw a year ago. The jeweler that I saw it at ''doesn''t remember'', but will try to get it for me. I''m guessing the setting itself is way over priced there, but who knows. Anyway,

the ring is very similar to a leon mege ring I''ve seen - do you know any designers that would be similar (besides the bigger names)? Here is the ring:

Except, it doesn''t look as fancy.

I looks similar to this one - yet the center stone is a channel setting (isn''t a tension) - the halo is around the bottom of the ring, but doesn''t cover any part of the stone. I sits very low on the hand (I tried it on once) and the sides (shoulders, really) are split and each of the 2 (on each side) spiral down.

Does it sound familiar? If so, PLEASE HELP!!!

Hmmm... hard to tell exactly what setting you are talking about. Maybe something like this Danhov? (hope you dont mind me posting, Goldenstar).

It is very close to goldenstar''s - except it''s not a prong setting. The jeweler says it was a custom piece, but they are being kind of shady when I ask who the designer could have been. They won''t tell me. Is that normal? It''s possible they don''t remember, but would they remember the exact ring, the exact size diamond in it and the price without remembering the designer? Seems odd.

Was it anything like the Daniel K. Regal? I know you didn't want big name price tags but Pearlman's carries some Daniel K. pieces in their closeout section.

That one is also close, but it didn''t have the micropave down the side, just on the shoulders and the halo that was underneath the ring.

I guess that wouldn''t really be considered a halo. haha.
