It was awful. I had a dream that Pete died. I was picking out coffins for him and they had all sorts. I was going to get this kind that were kind of like those egyptian mummy tomb things. I was going to pick one of those and then I was told that he hadnt died. I was so happy that he was ok.

I hesitated to let Pete out to frolick this morning. This is his favorite time of year for being outside. He will go out in the morning and will not come back until you call him. Kind of like kids in the summer.

I wonder if this means something? Has anyone else ever had a dream that their pet died?

I don''t specifically remember having a dream that my dog died, but I do have crazy, weird dreams all the time. I wouldn''t put much stock in it as an omen. I''m sure Pete will be fine. Keep a close eye on him for a while if it makes you feel better.

I dreamt that my diva dog wanted to come get in my lap,and was in my grandmothers. She walked across a side table to get to me but fell and broke her neck

I took extra cautions afterwards... she wasn''t allowed on the arms of couches for a while.

Nothing happened though.

I don''t have bad dreams about my pets, only my child. They are scary, but I know they are just my subconscious paranoia coming to the surface in my sleep.

About a month ago I had a dream where I had the baby and it was a klingon.

I haven''t had a dream where a pet dies, but I did dream that my previous dog wouldn''t go out the back door, so I made her, and she fell 1 1/2 stories because the back deck was torn down so a new one could be built. She lived, but that dream haunted me for a while. Then just last week I had a dream that my boxer/beagle mix had something wrong with one of his back legs. The vet said that sometimes the problem would correct itself, and she wanted to put him "out" for 6 months! I just couldn''t get comfortable with that, so the day before he was supposed to go under, I told her I couldn''t do it. Dreams seem SO real!

I don''t think the dream means anything other than you have a fear of loosing your pet.

A few nights back, my son had a dream that our cat who passed away last week came and visited him and then after a short visit, faded away. It really disturbed my son.

I have lots of weird and wacky/scary dreams - most of them I can trace back to a real-life situation (or sometimes a PS situation!) or worry.

Oh, that''s awful radiant! I''ve never dreamed that my cat died, but I have dreamed that she ran away, many times. Those are always scary too, because I can never stop or catch her.

Hahaha thinking back on it now it''s funny but it was a freaky dream at the time. It was right before I went in to the the screening for down''s syndrome and I had recently watched the new Star Trek movie. Clearly I had some subconscious anxiety issues. Dh was so impressed with me because I knew that the facial structure I saw in my dream was Klingon...

I'm sorry to hear about your cat, MC. I saw your update in the other thread. RIP, kitty.

Whenever my stress level gets really high, I start waking up every morning in some kind of panic or terror. It's like the disaster movie du jour. I started setting the alarm earlier than it needs to be. I'd much rather be jarred awake by a clock than by yet another scary-as-heck dream. My town is starting to have all kinds of weird things like arson fires and robberies even in the nice areas, because so many people are nearly bankrupt, and Detroit gangs are moving in, and people are roving around at night looking for things to easily steal. They burn vacant houses, facilitating thefts of wire and copper afterward. And some of it is owners can't sell the houses for what they want, so houses get torched.

I am a worrier and have plenty of dreams that my pet turtles or cats died. Nothing every came of it.

I did also have a dream the other night that my ex-best friend (because she turned into an evil cow) was a fat stripper. That made me feel better.

These, for me, are the worst dreams aside from losing FI or my family. Whenever I have one of these dreams I wake up and find my kitties and give them big cuddles and sometimes treats as a "thank you for living" kind of thing. I would be absolutely devastated if I lost my two boys. I always tell them they are not allowed to die. I have slight abandonment issues.

I actually just had a dream two nights ago that I was outside and my cat R came running outside. I had to be outside for some reason (think I was catching a killer

) and so I picked him up and threw him back inside but he wouldn''t stay. So I closed the door, but the door was only a half door, so he jumped out again, along with my other boy B. So, I''m trying to catch this killer but my cats wouldn''t stop leaving...
