Hey there everyone.

I wanted to show you all what I got my wife for our 6 month "anniversary." I think it should really be called a "miniversary," since anni-means yearly, and we''re only halfway there, but you know...

Here we are at 7 months (as of yesterday; Jen keeps a strong count going on that), and I know it''s late, but I had a hard time getting a picture to show the monogram, and finally I just gave up. It is what it is, and it is blurry and you can''t read the monogram.

Jen had said during our engagement that she wanted to get something monogrammed with her new initials some time, once we were married. She suggested I remember that, and give her something for the birth of our first child, or for some other special occassion. I think I shocked her because I remembered, and she has only mentioned it approximately 4 times (which is very few times, for her).

Here is her "miniversary" gift, monogrammed heart bracelet. She was pleased.

You can see the actual monogram in this one, but I can''t see it anymore now that it has been resized.

Well, you get the idea, I suppose.

Its just lovely - congrats on a great choice!

That''s lovely!

FI and I always celebrate "semi-versaries" as they are called in the UK. Ours just happens to coincide with valentines day which we have both always hated. Now we just have a semiversary celebration instead!

Very thoughtful! I''m sure she was delighted.

Wow I have never heard of people doing this! She trained you well!!!

aww that''s such a thoughtful present! Congrats on your 6 month anniversary!

Sooo pretty! My DH loved it when I got my married initials engraved on my Tiff bracelet! I think he felt like it was even more personal than seeing my married name on my driver''s license and social security card! I told him now he needs to pay for my passport, lol! Congrats on your anniversary!!!!

She appreciated that comment, Tacori.

The way she went about "training" me was pretty smart, I must say. She started way back when were dating and knew it was going to last, I believe.

She would start getting me little gifts on our "miniversaries," and I felt like a shmuck for forgetting the BIG day EVERY single month. Eventually, I remembered. Nothing like the positive reinforcement of goodies.

So, sometimes I remember to get her something, but I figured since she has always gotten me something (usually a pack of gum and gummy bears or some other favorite food of mine, wrapped in paper and everything, she''s big on that), and I rarely do, other than writing her a letter or note (which she bawls over and says is better than anything), I ought to make up for it with the "BIG" anniversary.

I was just thinking the other day about what I''ve gotten myself into, though. For sure she is now thinking I have some huge plans for our real anniversary, and I don''t. Not yet, anyway.

I still like when Jen is on-call for work and she has to take after work hour calls and I hear her talking her professional talk, stating her full name. I wonder how long that lasts, being excited that your wife identifies herself with your name. I also like getting the mail and seeing both of our names on the envelopes. Even on the bills.

Back to the monogram; I did sort of do it wrong. I didn''t know the Last Name initial went in the middle, bigger than the other letters in the name, and when the engraver asked me about it, I thought she was being ridiculous and it must be some trendy thing that Jen wouldn''t like. Why would the last name be in the middle? It made no sense to me, and when she showed me an example, it just looked wrong.

She loves the bracelet, but did ask me about three days after she had it, why the P wasn''t in the middle. Doh.

I guess I''ll have to get her a necklace or something some time, and do it that way.

Very nice! I like it.

Lol about the monogram! However, it was a very sweet and special gift! Just ask us next time if you aren''t sure about something like that!

What a sweet gift! I always count the months too! I call them monthiversary''s.

Happy 7th monthiversary!

Oh she is smart! I doubt I can start that now. I think it is too late. Oh well. I still get excited when I hear my DH introduce me as his wife. We have only been married a year but that feeling STILL hasn''t faded.
