... until I saw this ring, and now, I am planning to have this ring made with a blue Zircon in future!



The ring is currently listed in diamondmounts' eBay store as a complete ring, however, the ring setting is available as a semi-mount.

I know the norm is to get the gemstone first then find a suitable setting. However, the Zircon is likely to be a commissioned piece, therefore, why not indeed! And no, I have not bought the ring setting yet, as the piggy bank is rather empty at the mo.

Another pic, and this is how I intend to wear it as a RHR on my middle finger which is a size 10.5! The Tanzanite is listed as 9.5mm x 9.5mm.



I shall request for the ring setting to be made as a bezel setting rather than with prongs.

I suggest prongs over bezel because they do not have your stone in hand for a good fit. You have a lot more leeway with prongs and trilliants come in many "fatness".

I bet you the cutter would probably be able to provide the details of the curvature based on the radius, or I can probably determine that myself.

I definitely prefer fatter/curvier sides than leaner/straighter ones.

I prefer sexy curves over straight sides too. I'm very sure the lapidary will be able to give you the bulge numbers.

I am not a fan of trillions too but I think that my bias is limited to diamonds only. Colored stones with cool settings, like you posted are really pretty. Good luck.
