I had to buy something from Whiteflash!!

I got in touch with Traci at Whiteflash today and she was SO helpful. I just purchased a lovely Expert Selection 0.535 D VS2 diamond as a birthday/Christmas present for my mom!!

She lost her engagement ring centre stone a long time ago and it has never been replaced. I really wanted to do this for her and am ecstatic that I was able to find something that I like for her online. I''m hoping that she doesn''t suffer from DSS b/c I don''t really remember what size her initial stone was but I don''t recall it being much bigger than around a 1/2 carat or so. If it was, I''m sure she''ll still be pleased to finally have a replacement, regardless of the size.

I also purchased the WF Tiffany style 4 prong solitaire setting for her to hold it in just in case it is not able to work in her original setting.

Here''s the link - to take a peek. It''s lovely! I can''t wait for her to see it and love it!

It''s not even showing as sold yet ... I''m off to take care of the bank wire!

Wow, what a generous and thoughtful gift for your mom! She is going to LOVE it! Beautiful stone!

What a cool present! I bet your mom will be thrilled.

warning, once you've "broken the seal" - meaning, buy from WF, you'll wonder "why did it take me so long?", and it won't be that much longer until your next purchase!

Wow, what a sweet daughter!!! I bet she will love it!

But YOU...are one incredibly thoughtful wonderful child of one very lucky and loved mommie.

What a sweet daughter you are. I almost got that stone last year. It should be one beautiful ring. Can't wait to see the pics.

What a sweet and thoughtful daughter you are and what a beautiful stone. She will love her new ring.

That is so thoughtful!! I am sure your mom is going to be absolutely thrilled with it, you know mom''s love anything that their kids give them, and something as thoughtful as this.... Oh yeah, you are going to be the topic of conversation at many get togethers that she goes to. hehe

(Sorry if that last comment doesn''t translate well - so in case it doesn''t here is my explanation: my sisters and I are always joking with each other about which one of us gets to be the lunch topic after a birthday, holiday, etc - it''s a silly thing the 3 of us do, we all love our mom so much, we kind of compete for "the best gift" at such things... this will be the last year of that though, we''ve finally wised up and decided if we pool our money we can get even better things, and then we can ALL be lunch topic subjects! Whee!) hehe

Thanks DS! I''m really excited .. I hope she loves it!

She the type that doesn''t really talk about her disappointment at not having gotten a replacement all these years, however, I know that it is something that she often thinks about ... I hope that this diamond be will just what she wanted. If not, hey, maybe I can help her upgrade??

ChargerGrrl - You are not kidding! Apart from my addiction to PS, I''m also finding a new habit... I am surfing Whiteflash every night for diamonds and finding all kinds of neat things like bracelets and earrings and earring jackets etc. It''s crazy. Soon, if I start buying everything I love, I will be "blinged out" and living in a box on the street.

I''m even trying to lure my friends into my den of inquity. I''ve just turned one of my friends onto the diamond stud earring jackets on Whiteflash ... I''m trying to convince her that they are an absolute essential ... After all the extra ear coverage will keep her body warmer during the winter, right?

If I can''t do it myself, I will certainly attempt to enable others so that I can live vicariously through them!

Thanks Skippy! I hope so!

I''ve already decided, if she doesn''t, I am willing to adopt this particular orphan. To top this "altruistic" action off, I also believe that if this is the case, I will also find a nice brother or sister that matches and make a lovely pair of diamond stud earrings.

Unfortunately though, I am betting that she will love it as well!

Thanks Kaleigh! I''m glad you like the stone. I was laughing with Traci at Whiteflash about it, b/c the stone I am getting for my ering is 1.28 E VS2 and out of nowhere my mom zooms up and bypasses me with this D VS2 beauty! Now really!

I was considering another diamond that was ACA but this one is so close to ACA and it is a D color and looks so clean, I just couldn''t resist it. I can''t wait to see it!

Thanks Dani! You know what, I don''t feel that sweet for doing this .. I''ve really wanted her to have this for a long time and both her and my dad have put it on the backburner and now that my own engagement ring setting is finished being made and we have selected a diamond and I am assuming that some time in the near future my lovely man will propose to me
20.gif
I wanted her to have her diamond as well. I think it''s neat timing and something we can kind of share together and she will no longer have any longing for a diamond of her own or for what was lost.

I will be certain to have pics. Hopefully, if I become engaged in the next little time, I will be able to show my ring as well!

What a lovely gift!!!
Thanks DiamanteBlu! I have a proposal for you ... If you think that this gift will be lovely, I will be so kind as to trade it for one of your rings ... maybe the 5 or 6 + carat Round brilliant??? and just take that off your hands
31.gif
Deal?
36.gif

Funny enough, I don''t think she''d have any idea what to do with such a large diamond. Believe me though, I would show her how to work that baby!

DKS - That''s what I was going for... All of this is about trying to make you look bad with you mom! Thanks for the great post, you made me laugh!
9.gif
Believe me, in spite of the ring, I am sure my mom still might dispute the "thoughtful, wonderful child" description of me. She more might liken my actions to those of a husband who has been caught doing something bad and has brought home flowers and/or jewelry and chocolates to atone for his sins.
31.gif

This token of my appreciation and love for her by no means actually thanks her or recognizes her enough for all that she has done for me in life -- that would be more like the 5 ct ACA that Sparkles bought
25.gif
- however, it does make me feel really good to think that I can do something for her that might really make her feel special.

Thanks Rainydaze!! I really hope it is! I''ve never bought anything like this online before so even though, from all the rave reviews here on PS, I''m pretty positive it will be, I can''t wait to see it in real life and see for myself that it is!

Thank you Mrs. S. I really hope she does. I get so emotional thinking about it, I really hope she loves it as much as I would like her to. It''s crazy how things like this can be so sentimental.

By the way, have I ever told you how much I love the lovely wet-nosed friend in your avatar. So Cute!!

Thanks Sera! I hope she does love it ... Who knows, maybe one good turn will deserve another and, as a result, I might get some fairy dust blown my way and my bf will propose and my mom and I can admire our new rings & diamonds together some time in the new year? I just hope he doesn''t propose when she is getting her ring at Christmas ... There''s just something wrong and kinda creepy about that. You never know though, sometimes guys just get things all wrong, poor things.

will turn into one that looks like yours!
