I'm sorry for my flip response of this morning, Sara. You posted a really thoughtful topic and I reacted negatively not because of your good effort, but because I was feeling exhausted at the idea of having to work so very hard to find an intelligent topic about which we could have a natural conversation here on Pricescope.

It sounded as if we all would have to stand on our heads!!!

I didn't mean to take it out on you, who were taking positive action against ennui, that we might have to work to find something important to discuss other than politics or religion.

I do think that our book club was a good idea, but I am willing to branch out and think with you about another topic as well.

I don't say this often, because young is usually a good thing...but I must be getting really old because he does not interest me. He is too young. He looks like a child and I do not find children erotic. I know he has the muscles of post-pubescence, but he doesn't look "old enough" to be of any interest. I would be glad to feed him dinner with my family, though.

Thank you! I felt the same but I couldn't quite figure out why... just a tad not enough body fat and his face is too young. I could see why a teenaged girl would swoon though lol

Yeah, I like meaty topics too.
Topics that matter are more interesting to me.
It's so sad people can't discuss without virtually killing each other, or that we loose perspective and forget that it's just an Internet forum so it does not really matter how upset people get.
Nobody's holding a gun to anyone's head, forcing them to be here; There is an off button.

I guess we have to be satisfied talking about puppies and kittehs.

I can't tell you that you see me being flip very often if you do not, Sara. I will tell you, however, that I am frequently flip in my postings. Most people just do not notice it. And when some of them do, they do not realize I am joking, which results in misunderstandings.

Cehra, hangout is not the place for any kind of debate unless it is trivial. I never noticed it before recent events and now feel that the scales have fallen, so to speak. Any thread of substance falls into a slanging match at some point and is closed. I'm not sure why, but it is the behaviour of some to launch attacks when opinion cannot be broached and debated. See for yourself - which debated topic on PS Hangout is still active? Unlike other sections of PS where debate is welcomed and information shared, Hangout is the place to point score and be salacious. I wish it were not the case, I used to really like PS and am the first to put her hand up for debate. Ask me something and you can be damned sure I have an opinion. But to personally attack that person and continue to make oblique references to them or the topic/thread times afterwards is not a place I want to be. Perhaps the 'attacks' were all in my head; with my guilty bigoted mind and all. I'll never know. For me though, I doubt we will see true debate here in Hangout and I don't wants to read even more inane topics - I can talk to my cats if I want a nonsense conversation .
