I can''t believe this woman wouldn''t get up!!

Sorry i have been a bit MIA on my own thread but my kitty chewed through my laptop cord so i had to go buy a new one.

Don''t worry, kitty is fine, the spark from his tooth was only small (seriously!!).

Well thank you again from the bottom of my heart to everyone for your support and well wishes for my mum. She has a chest infection at the moment and isn''t travelling too well. They sent her home from work halfway through the day and she never goes home sick so she must be feeling pretty horrible.

Swimmer, i love the idea of the facemask and i am going to suggest it to her too!! That is a great idea about looking into any services that may be available too. I remember when my aunty had breast cancer she had the use of a bus as she lived out of the metropolitan area, thanks for bringing this to my attention, i am definately looking into it. I really can''t believe that man didn''t offer you his seat! He did deserve that belly in his face.

I hope you have a wonderful birthing experience in the next week or so!

softly softly and justginger, i used to think that Perth was pretty good for this type of thing, i mean most people are friendly, happy and courteous or maybe they just used to be. I make a point not to sit in those seats either, and i do stand if they are available, but as honey said, there is nothing wrong with sitting there as long as you get up for someone who needs it more, i just prefer not to. Jg, we have mums timetable for her treatment and it seems to be all over the place, there are quite a few days where she will hit the peak travelling time on her way home. I am going to request if they can be changed or see if someone can take her on those days.

part gypsy, i can''t believe they treated your boss like that! I mean with this woman you could argue that she didn''t know but they definately can''t use that excuse!! Just terrible

Honey, you are too funny!! I was thinking the exact same thing when i was trying to get to sleep that night, it would have been pretty funny if mum was sick on her feet, she definately would have gotten what she deserved!! Thanks also (and to Choro) for explaining to sabine how priority seats work. Such a simple concept, but people still don''t seem to be able to get it right!

Sabine, i really hope that you understand the point of a priority seat system a little better now. I travel on the train on an almost daily basis and misuse of priority seats is something that has always bugged me, and just because it happened to my mum, it doesn''t mean that it has coloured my view of the situation. Bad manners is bad manners no matter who you see it happen to. I mean, wouldn''t you be angry if your mother or grandmother was treated this way? This woman did know our situation.. mum said she was old, i said she had cancer and she STILL wouldn''t get up. She had a really bad cold and was visibly unwell, you could hear it in her voice when she spoke. Yeah, this woman could have had a disability too, but i highly doubt it by the way she ducked under my arm and jumped off the train in the space of about half a second when it was her stop. There was definately nothing wrong with her legs!

This is retty universal, sadly. I worked and took the subway and bus up to my due date, and no oe woul offer me a set, even when I''d undo my jacket to make the belly more prominent. And after the kid was born and I''d be on the subway/streetcar with baby in a sling, bakpack and diaper bag, plus umbrela, only twice have I been offered a seat, and not a priority seat either.
