This morning I was listening to the radio on my way to work. There was a commercial that was a spoof of the Tiger Woods scandal.

It was formatted as an interview. The interviewer asks the man, named "Mr. Iron" what his thoughts were on the allegations.

Mr. Iron answers that he did have an affair and should have used AshleyMadison.com

Then the interviewer asks what his thoughts are on the pictures, emails, and texts that have been leaked.

Mr. Iron answers that he cannot deny the photos and should have used AshleyMadison.com
33.gif

Finally the interviewer asks what his thoughts are on the countless of women that have come forward and Mr. Iron says again that he should have used AshleyMadison.com.

The commercial ends with this:

Stop having affairs with those single women that only want to cause trouble. Visit AshleyMadison.com for a community of married women that are willing to have an affair. Everything will be kept in private.

yeah, I would change radio stations; incredibly tacky/disgusting imo.

That is disgusting. Cheating on your spouse gets it''s own advertising spot now? It''s no wonder the rest of the world thinks this country has gone to hell.

I have heard those many times. I have sirius radio and the first time I heard it I could not believe it. I don''t even understand how they can advertise because isn''t adultery illeagal? That would mean that is an illeagal business. The ad they were running recently was a man asking santa for a mistress and santa said that he could not do it and then an elf told him about ashleymadison.com. I think it is disgusting too. Any woman/man can easily look on the website history and see ashleymadison.com. I mean not only would I be hurt that he had an affair, but the fact that it wasn''t even a chemistry thing. I mean these are people that are looking to cheat and they don''t care who it is with to the point that they will go online and FIND someone. YUCK!!

Wow that''s just nuts
I was listening to the radio today and they had tiger wood''s mistress on...meh

Disgusting...I would also avoid that station
14.gif

I was so upset/disgusted that I almost called into the morning radio show. But then I figured a) they won''t care and will find it hilarious and b) if the company is paying the station for that slot, they will keep running it.

Yes, this is total trash.

When I was in my car this morning listening to the radio, there was a commercial where someone was impersonating Tiger Woods and Bill Clinton.

"Bill Clinton" told "Tiger Woods" to repeat after him, "I did not have sexual relations with that woman", and said "that''s how I kept my popularity vote so high" or some crap like that .. I don''t even know what the commercial was for, I think it was for a local car lot?!

I think it''s really sad that being unfaithful in your marriage is not something that''s taken seriously here in the States. It''s not something we should try to make "funny" commercials out of. Tiger''s wife is a person, a human just like the rest of us, with real feelings.

Also, it just crossed my mind, I live in the same city as Tiger and his wife .. which means it''s only a matter of time before she hears that awful commercial

I must be really naïve. I never, in a million years, thought they'd have something like that online. And advertised like it's an upstanding business!

When I was like 20, me and another girlfriend jumped on this website to see what it was all about. (We were NOT looking for married men!)

I got sent some *very* nasty pictures!

It annoyed me too.

The radio station had some woman on there a few months back that was promoting a similar business (it may have been the same business but I never caught the name). She kept going on and on that she isn''t promoting having an affair but if you are going to have one, it shouldn''t be emotionally involved.

I drove with my mouth open the entire time. I could not believe what she was saying and couldn''t tear away from it either. I was waiting for the "sike"

I'm not really sure how adultery would be illegal. Immoral? Sure. Illegal - not so much. It may be that states have old laws on the books, but I really can't imagine anybody being prosecuted for having an affair.

Thanks Bia!

Princess--I''m not sure why that would matter
33.gif
. Maybe you mean just more popularity?

Also, I went snooping on google
27.gif
and a lot of people have complained that it''s mostly "robots" that are on there. But still.

Eh - whatever. Just deleted that. You're right, it's not relevant and I'm just in a weird mood today.

Well I asked the mods to change it to "AM.com" if they can just in case

This company, "Ashley Madison", actually paid for a 30 second ad during the Super Bowl last year.

I'm not sure if it aired in all markets, but it raised a HUGE stink in the following days.

Fiery- What type of show were you listening to? They tend to only promote where there is a primary Male viewership.

Well, none of us will forget that company name. Guess their advertising (for better or worse) is working.
14.gif

Everyone''s a capitalist...they figure people are going to do it, so why not make money on it?

It will probably be no big deal in time as well...people won''t even raise an eyebrow. I mean, while many women don''t like the idea, does anyone really think twice anymore when a man has a bachelor party? Great idea...take this guy who is about to be committed to one woman til death do us part and take him to a strip club where he can gorge on nekkid women and maybe get his face stuffed in a buffet of b**bies. Isn''t there something wrong with this idea too? And yet, people just accept it as the way things are done (and I''m one that just shrugs at the idea, as well.)

OMG, I had a similar shocked reaction--in NY there are free papers handed out to commuters (subway and trains)--these get very high circulation. Everyone reads them. So I was reading through mine and on the back page there is a FULL page ad saying "74% of men say they would cheat if not caught. Do it discretely. Ashleymadison.com". I was like WHAT? I thought maybe it was a prank but seems like not.

Really unbelieveable!! And this is not just a radio station..it's a full page ad in a free paper--I bet 1/2 the married guys in NYC have now seen the ad. Now obviously we know most DH's aren't so weak willed to be lured by an ad , but what's next-hey need to beat someone up without getting caught? Call this number!

Eh, it doesn''t faze me. I''ve heard and seen ads for AshleyMadison for years, it probably did make me gasp the first time but I''m quite de-sensitized now.

This is all so, so, so sad

Are affairs a reality in today''s world? Unfortunately, yes.

Commercials describing/promoting affairs, however, bring the action from a mere reality into the realm of acceptable/understandable behavior.

I know people are free to say what they want, act how they want, etc, but I wish a line could be drawn somewhere.
