After all of the indecisiveness about shapes, sizes, solitaires vs. sidestones, halos vs. no halos...I think I''ve decided to get a 1.4 carat E VS2 princess cut. I tried the diamond on and it "spoke to me"!!! FI is going to call the person at Goldstock in the Clark buliding tomorrow to see what kind of setting they can mount it in. I told him I''d like either a platinum solitaire x-prong type setting or a platinum setting with channel set princess cut diamonds on either side. After all of this research online I''ve decided to let him pick it out (now that he''s seen what I like on my hand!) I''m such a crazy PSer!!! I''ll let you know when I get it (and OF COURSE I''ll post pics!!) Thanks for all of your help and patience with my search!!! You guys rock!!!! Get it? Rock??

Good luck to you on this Vuitton. If you're interested in some opinions and have some stats I'll share my feedback if interested.

That stone will look awesome im sure, congrads. Both settings sound great too, the X prong looks nice with a princess cut. But I hope that you get the one with the side diamonds, because it will sparkle a lot more and will look great on your hand. Either way though it will look great. Again congrads and good luck.

Phil

Yea... either will look awesome. Princess cuts in x-prongs (side diamonds or not) are absolutely beautiful and the x-prong does a fantastic job of highlighting the center stone. 1.4xct E VS is not an easy find either.

Haha I saw this and was thinking it was ame, Lol!!! Yay for you so glad you found your stone and can''t wait to see it once it''s set!!!!

Oh sounds fantastic! Is he going to place them next to wedding bands to ensreu a flush fit? Your stone sounds fantastic! Congrats...

Sounds like a winner if you love it! As for making us crazy, don't worry...there are others who are and have been much worse!!

Speaking of, I was probably the original nutcase way way back when!

LOL! Your replies are cracking me up!

Nope, I don''t have many stats (I know, I know--bad PSer, BAD BAD!!) But I do know it had excellent polish and excellent symmetry. AND it spoke to me! It called my name, it most certainly did

I doubt they''ll try it with wedding bands at this point. If worse comes to worst, we''ll have something custom made. Regardless of which setting (with or without diamonds), I think I''ll be getting a princess cut channel set platinum band to go with it!

I''ll keep you all posted!!!

you know what, this stone doesn''t sound right to me. you have to be careful with princesses, they can be dangerous. you might get distracted from the sparklies and trip over something. i think you should send it to me for a test run. yeah, send it over here and i''ll wear...i mean test it for you.

Congrats.
It sounds perfect! Then again, I am biased as that''s exactly what I want- a Princess in an x-prong setting.
Can''t wait to see pics.

Congrats VG! I think that our eyes can be the most powerful tool in picking out a beautiful stone...and an ex/ex in a princess is certainly impressive! The princess is such an elegent, classic look. Makes such a statement imo. And I'm a sucker for a colorless stone...Congrats again!

Hi VuittonGal! Your description of the settings that you like instantly made me think of my favorite princess setting (by Vatche).

Actually, Vatche offers a few different X-Prong setting options for princess cut stones that it sounds like you might be interested in. Have you taken a look at them? Here''s a pic of my favorite one:

Hey Vuitton

1) I agree with Rhino - you''re picture is soooooo cute

2) I know of Goldstock in Pittsburgh- excellent store with an excellent reputation. You will do very well if you buy there- these are great people to deal with.

3) A 1.4 E/VS is a very hard to find stone- CONGRATS!!!!

Ooh, I can''t wait to see your ring. It''s going to be gorgeous! I hope the sound of your stone calling your name isn''t keeping you up at night...
