Currently I have a 6.2mm OEC in a setting by Daniel M. Originally I was thinking that I wanted to redo it with vivid yellow pear sides in a simple bezel three stone. But, I then learned about lab grown diamonds and realized for the same cost, I could get a pretty blingy MRB three stone.

The photos are my current ring, as well as the inspiration photos I've been collecting. The yellow pear that I took a screenshot of is an example of the color/shape I like.

Would you....

A. Redo the current ring with fancy yellow sides

Or

B. Do a brand new three stone of MRB diamonds. F/G color. SI clarity. 1.6ish carat center with .7 caratish sides. I would verify all with the HCA before purchasing. The current ring would go into the safe box for my daughters 16th birthday (in 15 years )

I love your stone! Your inspo setting with sides was literally the one I was considering for myself!

I was in a somewhat similar dilemma (wanted pears, or round 3-stone.) Honestly, I would really recommend going to a store (if you can) to try on rounds and pears to see what you like better next to your stone.

You have such a pretty OEC, I wouldn't rule out OEC sides. Would you be open to fancy yellow OECS or OMCs?

I too have an OEC center, and wanted pear sides. I brought my OEC into a store to look at it with pears - and it turns out, I really didn't like the modern, splintery facets with my floral, color-blocky faceted OEC. It is entirely personal preference. It would have distracted me as the way light hit the stones was very different.

Here is a photo of my stone loose with pear sides - it is 1.3 carats, 6.7mm, and the pears were 0.37ctw, don't know dimensions...sorry the photo isn't the best.

****EDIT - OR OMG - look at these antique fancy colored pears from Yoram!!!! Option 1 , he has these too.....Option 2 (maybe he'd sell the pears separately ??) Option 3... if I wanted yellow pears, and had an OEC, I would be ALL OVER THESE...his stones are sooo special

Crap. I just sorted everything from price low to high and I think they are going to be WAY over budget
