He proposed last night!
So here''s what happened...
Let''s start with attempt 1: disaster...
On Friday I came home from work early an D tells me he found a few cool Mexican restaurants in the city and would like to go today. I said ok, and asked if he wanted to invite our friends too (fishing for hints of a proposal
). He says sure, call them up (woeful dissappointment on my part). So, I go off to get my magic mani, and call up my bff to come with us. We got there and had a great time, and D tells me it''s Pi day (yes that''s Pi, not Pie), 3/14. We''re both geeks (I was an engineering major, he was computer science), and I have long ago declared that Pi was my favorite number, and I think it''s the most interesting. Anyhoo, dinner came and went and no proposal. Needless to say I was dissappointed.
The next day I had very noticeable moodiness due to LIW-itis. He asked me what was wrong (knowing what it was), and I didn''t want to talk about it. He finally pryed (sp) it out of me, and this led to a long, drawn out discussion about the topic, that I didn''t want to have, with me saying that I thought it was never going to happen. He then confessed that he was going to do it yesterday (Pi day), and it just didn''t happen, but he thought that Pi day would be perfect since I am such fan of the number. Needless to say there were tear on both sides, most notably his. I was so upset by this, I didn''t know what to think. We talked it out, and went on with the rest of our day.
Now, on to the goodies...
In the evening when we got back from the mall, we were both feeling pretty sick with whatever flu is going around my office
. I started cleaning the kitchen and D took Bender (puppy) for a walk. When he came back, he told me to take off his pinch collar, and said to check if he put it on awkwardly, because the dog seemed uncomfortable on the walk. I go, look at the collar, don''t notice anything odd, and hang it up. Then, as I''m fumbling around in the kitchen, he calls to me to come look at the collar again because he thinks it might be broken. I go, look at it, don''t see anything wrong with it at all, and he keeps nudging me to keep looking... a which point it dawned on me that I should be looking for THE RING!.
From there on out we were a bawling, puffy mess, and he got down on one knee, (and the dog jumped on his showlders too) and asked me to to marry him! He said a bunch of sweet things, notably an apology for all the pain and heartache this process has put me through, and that he hopes, I won''t be hurting any longer!
I''m so happy! It''s 6 am and I can''t sleep a wink! (It''s probably because the nyquill wore out).
D left our camera in the car, so no pics until puppy goes on his morning walk
.
P.S. The keyboard is acting up, so excuse any missing a''s.
