This forum has been extremely helpful to me, so thanks to everyone

. I am very close to buying a diamond for my girlfriend and have found plenty of information about tables, pavilions, depth and angels but can’t seem to find any information about what the measurements on a GIA certificate represent. All things being equal, what is an acceptable range for the measurements in a round stone and what does each measurement mean? I am just looking for a general overview.

Are the following measurements acceptable for a 2.12 round diamond and more importantly, why or why not.

8.26 - 8.33 x 5.09m
8.24-8.31 x 5.04m

Thanks again and I will likely seek the forum’s opinions once I have narrowed my selection and received all of the pertinent information on the diamonds.

The first two measurements represent the North to South and East to West measurements from girdle edge to girdle edge, the last measurement is from the top of the Table to the bottom point of the Culet. The outside diameter measurements are within reasonable tolerance of each other... How about posting the rest of the numbers and maybe a copy of the plotting diagram?

Thanks. i only have some of the numbers for the first one. they are:
8.24-8.31 x 5.04
Depth - 60.9%
Table - 60%
Girdle - thin to Medium
Polish & Sym - VG
Cutlet - none
flour - none

I will try and get angels tommorow.
