I am a newbie, but like this forum a lot :). Here the place I can really find the expert.

I recently run into this ACA diamond:
1.575 ct I VS2 A Cut Above H&A $11,759.00

http://www.whiteflash.com/hearts_arrows/A-Cut-Above-H-A-cut-diamond-179720.htm
.

I did some search on the pricescope, realized that a excellent cut diamond with similiar specs (1.5/I/VS2) are about 8500-9000$. I have 2 questions:

1. Is this a fair priced dimond?
2. Is the ACA really worth 2000$ premium?
3. Is I color noticable yellower than a F or G color?

Thanks a lot !!!

1. yes
2. I find you are usually paying about an extra color or clarity grade for H^A over other AGS 0 or GIA Ex/Ex with same color/clarity. There are many happy owners of ACAs.
3. as in, if someone showed you an F/G and an I, would you be able to pick the I? yes.

That ACA is kicken are you comparing apples to apples on price?
Compared to other super-ideals the ACA''s are usually competitive in price.

F/G next to an I side by side equal cut most people could tell but the I will not look yellow by itself to most people in a super-ideal cut diamond.

It is a personal choice if the ACA is worth the extra money. We got an expert selection and are very happy with it. There are plenty of gorgeous diamonds that fall out of the ACA line. What is your budget and specs that you are looking for? An I should still look amazing if you are not extremely color sensitive. I can give you some other options if you are trying to save money or to get a better color for the same $ but that ACA really does look great.

Some other options:

Hi gurus, Thanks a lot for help!!

phycalogically I am afraid "I" color will tend to be very different from a G color, I am not sure if both are mounted on a whitegold setting, can ordinary people with sharp eyes pick out the yellowish in it.

I did some search on abazias.com, here''s one I found, with similiar price:
http://www.abazias.com/database/NewDiamondInfo.asp?stock=26287705

It is a H, and it is a branded "couples" diamond. Which brand is better ? ACA or Couples Diamond? Comparing with this one I posted earlier, which one is better deal?

Hi JulieN:

Thanks a lot for the information. I tries to stick to the ACA brandname, which gives me some comfort as I heard a lot of good things about it. I am going to post some of my final selections on a new post, please do throw in your valuable opinion!
