I have secured a princess cut fancy vivid canary yellow 2.1 carat stone. I am trying to figure out what to wrap it in.

This:http://rockdiamond.com/index.php/jewelry/pink-diamond-409ct-cushion-cut-fancy-brownish-yellow-vs1-gia-halo-micro-pave-r3861

or

I'm torn.

Money isn't an object.

She wants something out of the norm but still tradtional. Whatever that means. LOL.

No experience with the Icestore ring, but I just saw the DBL piece in person the other day, and the workmanship was superb.

If she wants something "out of the norm but still traditional," I might not do it in tri-color: perhaps either a yellow gold setting with fancy yellow mele, or a platinum setting with white mele for contrast.

This is the way I'd personally go. Really highlight the center yellow.

I wouldn't go for a halo at all.

I would put it into a very elegant (and lifestyle friendly) three stones setting by Steven Kirsch with white pear sidestones. www.timelessluxury.net

Halos are work and are not kid, workout, cleaning (anything really) friendly. Unless you KNOW she must have a halo-- with a beautiful two carat yellow center don't gild the lily just stick to great workmanship (which Steven absolutely has) and elegance (three stone). The yellow center will provide the 'difference' you need and the three stone will provide the classic touch.

Definitely platinum ring except the basket and prongs for the yellow diamond should be yellow gold. White side stones in all examples.

I like a three stone with plain shank (no pave) with white side trapezoids like tyty linked, as well as this:

I like a yellow princess with side tapered baguettes:

orrrr, you could do a 5 stone with side traps and bullets:

if going with a halo- I prefer the contrast of the melee to the stone.

I am probably one of the few women around who doesn't like Leon Mege. But this one is nice:

However, I love Mark Morell's work - simple, timeless, but different. Go to his page, scroll down a bit, and you'll see some settings that would work beautifully with your stone:
