Enough people have been complaining that protestors are too violent. Now we have one who's completely nonviolent, and people still complain.

Goes to show you that it doesn't really matter how you send the message - someone's not going to be happy about it. At the end of the day, it's not about making people comfortable about a protest so much as getting them to confront the issues.

Edited to add: why should police violence be accepted as the work of "a few bad apples" and totally the norm, but a naked woman is so hard to process and accept?

The subtle, sophisticated, and complex protest angle would be lost on the goons, who (odds are) are mostly straight men.
They'd just shoot me ... probably where it would hurt lots.
