Hi first time posting. Don't know a huge amount about diamonds but have found a ring I love and just want to see what people "who are in the know" could tell me about the diamond and if it is a good buy. It is a HRD certified 1.25 carat H colour, very good cut, SI1.
Fluorescence: nil
Measurements: 6.82 - 6.88 mm x 4.22 mm
Girdle: medium 4.0 % faceted
Culet: pointed
Total Depth: 61.6 %

Table Width: 63 %
Crown Height (β): 14.0 % (36.8 deg)
Pavilion Depth (α): 44.0 % (41.5 deg)
Length Halves Crown: 40 %
Length Halves Pavilion: 85 %
Sum α & β: 78.3 deg

Any advice or guidance on this greatly appreciated.

Not a pro... but I don't like the looks of that HRD lab...that in itself would be a no for me. AGS and GIA are the only reputable labs that I will consider stones from.
Also, that table is HUGE.

It also scored a 6.4 on the HCA. This score should be a 2 or below. Run away from this stone. :errrr:

Yuck.

Thanks for the replies. I have been looking for ages for a ring and we have put a substansial deposit on this one. I live in Europe and have researched that HRD is a reputable grader, at least seems to be here. The ring is very expensive but we didn't do much research on all the different aspects of diamonds, I just loved the ring and the setting. Not sure what to do now... Thanks again for the advice

I, too, read some good things about the lab since I've posted. However, the stone is a long way from ideal....
If you love the setting, I'm sure you could find someone to make one nearly identical for you. Heck, the jeweler may even sell it to you without the stone!

What matters most about this purchase is that you are happy with it. It makes no difference what I think over here across the pond. I will never see it anyways!
