Hello,
I found this diamond on bluenile. http://www.bluenile.com/round-diamond-2-carat-ideal-cut-j-color-si1-clarity_LD01429647?__fun_frm=i&filter_id=0

The GIA report shows a medium green fluorescence. The report shows an extra facet so I do not know if that is the culprit.

What do you think.....HPHT or natural?
Hi Aggie,

It doesn't say HPHT nor do I think BN sell these to the best of my knowledge, and medium green fluorescence would be a natural attribute of this diamond - personally I would proceed with caution and take expert advice on this one, I haven't encountered green fluorescence in all my years here ( although I am well aware fluorescence comes in colours other than blue - I just haven't seen green in an actual diamond) , so to be safe unless a trusted expert tells you it is ok I would look for another diamond. Extra facets are seen sometimes and not of concern.

I think all diamonds that have been HPHT treated must be labeled as such in accordance with law. If the GIA report does not state the diamond is "HPHT Annealed" or "Artificially Irradiated" it most likely is not.

Hi Lorelei,
I just got off the phone with BN and you are correct, they do not sell HPHT diamonds. She convinced me the J color is the real issue and will show more in 2ct since I plan on setting it in white gold. Back to the drawing board.

Thank you for your opinion!

Most welcome! Also a J colour can be perfectly fine in WG even at this size if the cut is great many happy J owners here. Maybe if you could see some in person, try the Peerless brand from Jareds if there is one near you, or Hearts on Fire if there is a dealer closeby. That way you would be able to see what you think of J colour in person.

And if it is, it is currently undetectable... since GIA will test for those things.
