Would a Square H&A of the same size look a smaller?

I doubt there''s any general rule of thimb - either type of cut can yield more or less ''spready'' diamonds. You can always look at the actual size of the diamonds - diameters are always on the lab report. IMO, there''s no use second guess spread by looking at depth ... or anything. And... there''s no need to decide about shape first and never compare diamonds of different shapes side by side.

As an owner of a Jubilee myself, Jubilees usually range from the 65-70% depth. My Jubilee is 63.7% on the GCAL report which means it''s even more spready than other Jubilees.

I do know that Jubilee sizes are comparable to a round H&A. The jeweler I used held up a round H&A next to the Jubilee we ended up purchasing and there really was little difference in size to my eyes. I''m not so sure about the spread of a Square H&A but HTH! :)
