How would you use this stone?

My husband proposed many years ago with a lovely round solitaire diamond. It has fantastic specs and is 0.66 carats.

I would love to upgrade my engagement ring in the future but I'm not sure if I could use this diamond as a side stone in a new setting given its size.

I would love to keep the diamond in a jewellery piece for sentimental reasons, so I'm also open to having it reset in a different piece of jewellery altogether.

What are your thoughts on using this stone in a new ring setting? Or alternatively, what other jewellery piece would you have it reset as?

Thank you in advance!

You could include it in one ring?

These are designs from my local jeweller which he have posted on Instagram (@watsonworkshop)

You could add high quality side stones for a three stone ring with the 0.66 as the center and wear it on your other hand.

Plenty of people have three stone rings with close to 0.66 or even more on each side. Here are two that are almost there...

Curious what is the biggest TCW 3-stone on PS...

It would be very sentimental, if you like the three-stone look, to include it as a side stone for your upgraded center stone. Of course you would also have to buy another side to match, which would add to cost (or possibly reduce funds toward the center stone.) But, if you still love your solitaire style, you could put all your funds toward the new stone, and set your original in a solitaire pendant. I did this with my original (0.63 ct) and it makes for a lovely size for daily wear.

Another idea would be to put it in a prong set pendant so you can wear it for now, while you search for a match to either make studs or a 3-stone ring.
