If your bf plans to spend $8000 on an engagement ring, would you tell him to split the money and get your multiple gifts? like a watch, a purse AND and ring? lol

Not me, I would want it all on a beautiful ring

Not me! How often do you get to buy an $8,000 piece if jewelry???

I would put it all into the ring.
Is this an e-ring?
You can buy yourself the watch and purse.

Go for the ring. It''s not everyday a girl gets an $8k piece of jewelry. A purse...you can always buy without needing to stretch. A watch...same deal. A ring, a really beautiful expensive ring...well, that''s almost once in a life time!

totally the Ring. You can buy the watch, purse yourself.

Another vote for just the ring!

Yeah, I would want it the amount, but only because I''m not into a huge blingy eng. ring. Even if I had $8K to spend, I''d still pick a diamond under 1 ct. I''d prefer to use the remaining funds to purchase other jewelry, not a purse!

I''d take the eng. ring and diamond wedding band or a pair of studs!

RING, no doubt.

i''d have to say the ring, all the other items i can buy on my own

ring
the purse will be out in a few seasons, if that (or you''ll just want a something newer).

a watch...maybe....if it was a really nice classic..rolex,cartier, patek phillipe, Tag, ect....maybe?

I still think ring. 8000 is a lot, but you can go through it all to quickly when it comes to diamonds.

For me...it would all go to the ring!

The ring!!

I would definitely spend it all on the ring, especially if you choose to never upgrade or get a different setting. I would want to get the best that I could and not ever wonder later.

Ring. I''d feel weird asking for "change."

Ditto. I think he's offering to buy you a e-ring that costs up to $8,000, not to give you an $8,000 gift card. If you happen to decide on a ring that costs less than $8,000... I think the appropriate reaction should be... great, can we put the "extra" towards the wedding/house/honeymoon fund?

Ring, ring, ring...all for the ring!

The ring!!!

If it''s an e-ring 4-5K on a ring, 3-4K on a vacation or something nice for us as a couple, like a wedding ring workshop or something.

Non e-ring, I''d rather get something nice, but inexpensive, then pay off debt (school) or put it towards a home. We don''t have a house yet, so... yeah.

nope...all on the ring...most of it on the stone and then the setting

He's not giving you an 8K shopping spree. He's giving you a budget for a very special item. I would find a ring I like, up to 8000. Any remainder or 'change' is his.

Ditto! So spend the $8k on the biggest diamond you can get!

Yup!
I was gonna say the same.

Just the ring! Most of it on the stone, a very small portion on a simple solitaire setting. In fact, that''s pretty much what I did!

I''m gonna have to go with the crowd here and say RING :D

4k on the ring, 4k spent on my husband for something he wanted - like a blingy wedding band, or a new tv, or a down payment on a car.

I vote for the ring! I prefer one BIG present instead of multiple "smaller" presents.

We would probably do what Monkey Pie said.

Lol...as much as I love handbags and watches, I would probably put it all towards the ring.
