How would you set this Antique cushion cut garnet?

I'm new to colored stones - purchased this from a PS'r on "preloved" forum. I would like a right hand ring or possibly a pendant. Any setting ideas?

Oh, gosh..YOU bought it! It's so beautiful! There are so many ways to go with it. Do you have a lot of rings, or is this going to be your main RH one? I would make a ring, with one or two side diamonds. So many choices!

Hi! That is gorgeous! I was lucky enough to buy a dreamy blue green tourmaline from Jeff White a few years ago and it is my fav pendant. Love it! Enjoy your new gem cant wait to see what you do with it! The gem in the ring is from Jason Brim, not identical colour but as close as i ciuld get

Thank you. I was thinking about traps with bullets? Or traps with some micro pave around stone? I do have a few right hand rings - this is why I'm considering a pendant. I have diamond pendants but not colored stone pendants. It will come to me, nice to hear ideas from others.

Its very pretty!! If you do a pendant how about setting it on the diagonal with a trap or bullet diamond above it.

Not yet!!! I continue to go around with my thoughts. Any ideas you want to share??? I'm thinking about a simple halo. I have thought about Ivy and Rose, Julia B and maybe DK??? However, I think I may not be satisfied with anything but an original "CVB" I want to make the right decision as I feel this is a special stone. It's beautiful.

Did you decide between pendant or ring? That would influence my suggestions most likely. For a ring, given the vibrant color, I would say small-ish side diamonds (pears, bullets, traps) for a three stone. Or perhaps see if Caysie can modify this for a cushion. I think the little bit of white sparkle would really set off the color beautifully! That’s kind of what I have thought for mine, or the Norah, but waiting to see it in person first ... but the wheels are churning in the mean time.


Do you have any IRL pics of your stone? I have been combing PS for other red garnet pics and trying to read more about them but am coming up pretty light on anything but the more purple colors ... not much on the more red ones.
