How would you modify this setting?

Medium height. The setting is not meant to be high, and I don't really like super low settings. I wouldn't alter it. If you wanted to alter, you may as well just get the Vatche setting like it that I have!

Thank you, your ring is gorgeous! I would just prefer to get the ring from JA to save money since I plan on purchasing the diamond from them. I may see if they can make the knife edge a bit softer. I agree that the Vatche setting you have is the closest thing to the Tiffany.

Thanks! They can get the Vatche setting, but theirs is at a good price point if it turns out well. Just fyi, the Vatche doesn't really have a softened knife edge. If I were you, I would order it as is. You don't really know if there is anything that needs modifying unless you can see it first.

Thank you! Does the knife-edge bother your fingers? Is it uncomfortable?

Very uncomfortable if it's not a softened knife edge. Especially if anyone squeezes your hand.

Thank you, I will have to see if they can soften the edge to make it a bit more rounded.

I hope DS sees this b/c it was my understanding that the Vatche *did* have a softened knife edge or it is at the least knot as sharp as the original Tiffany. I've not seen the Vatche in person to know for sure...

The original Tiffany has a wider shank and is a little less of a knife edge for that reason. The Vatche obviously is not sharp, but it does come to a definite edge. It is inconsequential because once you put on a band with it, you can't feel the e-ring shank at all. But no, mine is too low to cause discomfort, and no one has ever squeezed my left hand that I can recall!

I just say, if you are worried about a knife edge band, then get a rounded shank!

I would do medium height and see if you can get the setting with a rounded band.
