How would you handle this?

They don''t wear gloves?!?!? WTF?!?

I would definitely stay away from there then. It would be one thing if the band-aid had found it''s way "out" of the glove somehow, but if they''re not wearing gloves at all while preparing food, that is extremely unsanitary!

Most chefs don''t wear gloves at restaurants, actually. Bare hands that are clean are just as sanitary as gloved hands. HOWEVER if someone has a band-aid on their had they absolutely should be wearing gloves. To not do so is DISGUSTING. And did they just not notice they lost their band-aid?!

I would contact the manager of the store and speak to them directly. I would imagine that most businesses in a similar situation would want to give more than a refund to encourage repeat business. I''m not saying you''re entitled to more than a refund, but if I were the manager of that store I''d probably offer a gift certificate as an apology and I would also want to assure the customer that it wouldn''t happen again.

Thing, this is exactly how I feel. I don''t think we''re really "entitled" to more than a refund, which is why DH only asked for our money back. But it just would have been a nice gesture for the store to give us a small gift certificate or something to show that they take this seriously and that they want to keep us as customers.

And I think you''re right about the gloves thing. I don''t think it''s required, but hand-washing of course IS required. And I agree that anyone who has an injury to their hand (band-aid or no band-aid) NEEDS to be wearing gloves!
