How will I know the band I bought is platinum?

I recently bought a solitaire platinum band from Brian Gavin Diamonds online. They're probably reputable and trustworthy, but once I get my band in the mail, I still want to verify that it is platinum.

Are platinum bands typically stamped on the inside saying "950 platinum" or something? Would that be enough verification if it is stamped? Can I just take it to any jeweler and can they tell just from looking at it what metal it is?

it will have a hallmark stamp that looks like 950 plat. there should always be a stamp on the piece and you should not accept if one is not there .A jeweler cannot guarantee what metal the piece is unless its stamped from place of manufacture unless they do a metal test.
