I am a big fan of GemCare Products. It has a paste that will remove the tarnish from your jewelry and a liquid for getting the cookie dough off the back of the diamond. Vegetable based so it smells good and will not tarnish your ring if you forget and leave it in the liquid overnight the way that the ammonia based products will.
Wink
P.S. Many jewelers carry it and they sell it direct from their yahoo store.
I read this thread thoroughly and found it very informative. I''ve had an ultrasonic cleaner for a while and thought it did a very good job of cleaning my jewelery, some antique with very intricate dirt-attracting settings and some pave (naughty me) that gets grimy easily. However, I cleaned everything last night using the hot water and windex in the ultrasonic method, and the difference is remarkable. My jewelery has never looked so sparkly, even when some of it was new!
A big thanks to everyone who posted in that old thread.
