How to use HCA tool to determine diamond sparkle?

I'm looking at diamonds at JA (cushions, radiants, & rounds) and am trying to figure out which will provide the most sparkle and the one that will be most eye clean. The carat range I am looking for is .55 - .71, $1k diamond budget.

I have seen the HCA tool, and see what info needs to be inputted, but being a newbie, I don't know how to read the results. I just want to get her a diamond that sparkles like crazy.

HCA is for modern round brilliants only. Input the numbers, then ask for an idealscope on those under 2. You only get 3 idealscopes / ASETs (for fancy shapes) at JA, so PLEASE come here first so we can help you narrow your choices before asking for images.

HCA is only for rounds. HCA only gives you the probability, or potential for sparkle.

When it comes to the nature of "sparkle" it's character can vary from

a. tiny pin point sparkles, to
b. a mix of medium size flashes combined with pin flash to
c. broad fire flash/sparkle.

These varying characteristics or personalities of sparkle, even in rounds can't be determined by the HCA as this is a primary function of the lower half facets. Unfortunately lower half facet length is not covered in the HCA.

One of the fun things about actually seeing and shopping diamonds is learning where you visual preferences lies.

Depending on the cut quality, ovals tend to emphasize a. tiny pin point sparkles, however there are some that fall into category b and you can get some good medium sized flashes of fire to go with it.
