how to tell if diamonds are real?

i have an antique gold block tennis bracelet with 27 round diamonds...it is solid on the back...it is not marked 14 carat gold...but i was told no marking does not necessarliy mean it is a fake...so, how can i tell if the bracelet is real?...thank you

Take it to a jeweler, they should have a diamond tester.Maybe even some of the jewelry stores would have one.It is a very simple little insturment and would only take a second or two.
