How should I store an antique 28 inch Mikimoto akoya pearl necklace?

It didn’t come with a box. All the necklace display cases or presentation boxes I found on Amazon are way too short. So are the necklace silk pouches and travel cases.

I don’t know what would be long enough unless I just lay them on the desk.

I’ve never had even halfway decent pearls before so these are the best I’ve had and I don’t want to screw them up, especially since they’re antique.

Can a long pearl necklace be stored somewhat curved in a jewelry box or pouch? Thanks.

There's nothing inherently bad about having them doubled up in a storage space. Generally speaking, either wrap the clasp or otherwise protect it if you're going to put them in a pouch.

There are lay flat necklace folders with buttons that you can use - again, just double up the strand.

You can just keep them in a soft pouch; the only risk is of the clasp scratching the pearls, so wrap the clasp in a bit of soft cloth or tissue.
