I am torn as to what I should be focusing on when buying diamond earrings. I understand the 4 C''s. and have read up on cuts, but I am not sure how to apply it to earrings. I am looking at total weight of 1.5 - 2.0. My proposed budget is 5,000 - 8,000. I think I should consider SI1, F-G, IDEAL for Round studs. I would hate to see yellow coloring with the naked eye and definitely don''t want to see inclusion with the eye.

Which of the 4 C''s should I focus on? Is 2 CTW too big for Round Studs and is 1.5 too small?

Cut is most important; this thread maybe helpful to you https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/show-me-your-diamond-studs.51981/

Mine are .75 each, H VS2, hearts and arrows (ACA) stones from WF, and I promise they do not look yellow at all. If they did, I would have sent them back! The cost was about $6000. Your best bet is to stay under a carat each because the price will jump significantly when you look at 1 ct. or more. I personaly would not want my studs any larger. But I guess if the e-ring is two carats or more, then 1 ct. in each ear might not seem too much.

I appreciate the suggestions. I would be concerned about the H or I color of the four suggestions. Should I be.

No, you shouldn''t be.....those will be fine.

Body color in colorless stones appears mostly in the side view IF it''s even noticeable at all (to many it''s not). Since earrings on the ear won''t really be seen from a side view, the overwhelming factor should be face-up view. Well-cut H/I stones face up beautifully and most often don''t show any body color face-up.
